Chapter Eight: The Osawari of Mu
"Maybe we shouldn't go this way." I started look ahead towards the ground infront of us.
"Wha'da ya mean?" Jakotsu asked.
"well it looks like it's going to be really muddy and Mukotsu and Hachi are so short, they might get stuck in the mud."
"I AM NOT SHORT!" answered Mukotsu
"Sure" Jakotsu and I replied.
"Yep, I'll be fine"
"Whatever" I answered
"Hey Kiri?"asked Hachi.
"Hai?"
"I'm going to fly up above the trees and I'll meet you later."
"Okay" I said as he transformed and flew off.
Walking onwards, the ground started to become softer and the amount of sunlight that came in through the trees was slowly declining.
We traveled in silence until...
"Somebody say something!" yelled Jakotsu.
"Something" Mukotsu and answered staring at him.
"UUGGHH! Something else apart from the word something!"
"Okay, Jakotsu calm down.." I started as he walk swiftly towards the underbrush in front of us.
His back disappeared rapidly as I turned around to the small man behind me and said "We had better go follow him. Come on!"
"Coming" He said as I ran towards the path Jakotsu had taken with him at my heels.
After running for a while along the path, the light was pretty much gone. The ground meanwhile was muddy and damp.
"Mukotsu be careful, it's slippery right here.........Mukotsu?" I asked, spinning around to look for the man and finding no one.
"Got to keep going." I thought to myself over and over again.
"Jakotsu!" Still no answer.
"Mukotsu!" No answer there either.
As I was running I didn't notice the ground become slightly dryer and more stable.
"Jakotsu!" I shouted into the semi-darkness.
"What?" He asked popping up right in front of me.
"AH!" I screamed, taken by surprise.
"What, you were looking for me weren't you?" He asked innocently.
"Ya I was...." I started leaning on a tree.
"Come on, I found the way out!" Jakotsu exclaimed happily as he held out a hand. I took the hand, and we started to walk towards light. Suddenly I remembered about the other member of our party
"Jakotsu, what about Mukotsu?"
"I'm right here" A voice answered as we spun around.
There stood Mukotsu, completely covered with mud and slime. You couldn't see in inch of his white outfit. All of his face except his bulging eyes was completely covered as well.
Suddenly, as he was walking towards us, he fell flat on his face onto the ground, where there just happened to be a puddle of mud.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH!!!" Jakotsu and I started bursting into laughter.
"I don't think I've ever laughed so hard in my live!" Jakotsu exclaimed after several minutes of rolling on the ground laughing.
Then, picking ourselves off of the ground, we started walking away from the now stuck Mukotsu. He yelled at us to stop and pull him out, but of course neither of us wanted to.
After we got out of earshot I asked "Jakotsu?"
"Hmm?"
"Are we just going to leave him there?"
"Ya!"
"Okay!"
