Ah, what a day. As you can tell by the headline, I returned again to the faire, with a few friends this time.
I didn't have alot of money this time, but one of my good friends, Brittany, took today off to go with her family, and invited me and Russ (DnR) to come along. Today, though, it wasn't free. I didn't wanna blow half my money on a ticket, so I tried lying to the guards saying you could get in free today as well. It didn't work, and sadly I had to waste $10 bucks just to get in, and see the same stuff as yesterday. I did learn alot today though, because we sat for half an hour listening to stories and tales about olden day blacksmiths. One of the ladies told us apparently the true story of the Sword and the Stone, which I give her props for remembering all of it, long as it was.
We ended up losing each other, and for a while we looked at a bunch of weapons, and tried to look up our family's name history. I'm actually not too fond of mine, Martinez is such a common last name. Russell's is really rare, Loudin. I was suprised when the books they gave us actually didn't have his actual last name. He said he would check up with his parents when he got home.
We were looking up a variety of hats, since Russ said Brittany couldn't leave until she found and bought a hat. We decided to ruffle through some shops, and I found those fezzes monkeys wear, and Russ found this nice musketeer's hat. It looked real nice, so we figured we'd ask the price just to see how much money we didn't have to pay for it. Our faces fell when the lady said $73. Apparently it's not a prop or show hat, it's the real deal. We left, sad and penniless, draggin Russ away from the nice hat. Brittany did buy a nice whip though, for what we don't know and never bothered to ask, afraid of the answer. We did meet up with some senior friends from VoTech, Jeff and Michelle, though, as long as Jason and a few others from Anime Vegas. Michelle is a rival to me in terms of fandom for Naruto, and when I boasted about getting the plushie, she congratulated me, but it sounded more like a curse.
I won't be going back tomorrow, for two reasons:
1) No money. Gonna have to scavenge for bus faire for tomorrow.
2) Tomorrow being the Anime Vegas Naruto Marathon. I'm certainly not gonna miss that for all the Renaissance Faires or Turkey Legs, or Bratwurst and Funnel Cake in the world. Although that would be alot of food.
Ah, gotta sign off. No sign of the plushie today, which means it's a no-show for the marathon. Just gotta keep praying for it. Here's your quote, that you keep praying:
"There is no failure in life other than not trying. If you want something badly enough, make an attempt.... A lot of people get scared. They're afraid to fail. Take that word out of your vocabulary. You didn't "fail." You "tried your best." - Jane Seymour.
