Dear Diary, The most AMAZING thing just happened! You may not believe me, but I’ll tell you anyway. As soon as I got back to the palace, I headed up to my room. The only thing I don’t like about our palace is that we have to go through the servant chamber hallway to get to the royalty’s living quarters. Well, I always go though this section as fast as I can. Today was no exception. But on the way Penny, a maid’s daughter, stopped me. She was dragging along another girl, this one in rags, obviously a peasant. I took a better look at her and realized she was the same peasant I told you about earlier.
“She was sneaking in the palace, Your Highness. My mother stopped her and told me to bring her to you to decide what to do with her,” Penny said.
This was the first time I had really talked to Penny, and I had never really looked at her except a glance when I passed here. Now I looked at her good, both her and the peasant. I realized three things. The first thing was that they looked EXTREMELY alike, almost twins! The second thing I realized was that they were looking at me the same way I was probably looking at them. And the third thing was that I knew I had seen their face somewhere before. After a little thought I knew… my mirror!!! All three of us looked the same!
I told Penny to let Dessaru, the peasant, go home. I needed time to think, and write in you.
I told you that you would never believe me!
That’s all I know so far. I’ll write again when I have more details.
