I'm sure you're wondering, why is my title just "CAR"??? Well, for those of you that I didn't get a chance to tell, I'll let you know now......
I GOT A NEW CAR!!!!!!
Yes, I know.....Crazy isn't it? Well if you think that's crazy, wait till I tell you all about how we came to get it. Be prepared, it's a bit long ^__^
Ok. It all started saturday evening. Caitlin was already at Andys moms so it was him and I that had to make the trip to Tiffin yet for Easter the following day. So as it became dark out we decided to leave. We hopped in the car *93 Dodge Shadow* and headed out. 1st my "wonderful" bf just HAD to stop and pick up the new PS2 game "God of War". After purchasing that we headed out again, only to make a quick stop at Wendys since he was starving and I was mildly hungry.
After getting our food we finally headed out and were on I-75. As we were driving along I was looking at the latest Game Informer with the little bit of daylight still left and was reading an article to Andy when IT happened.....The car made a horrible screeching sound and suddenly died, right there on 75 *not good*. So while the car is starting to slow down we managed to get it on the side of the road right next to an exit and it stopped, not to be restarted. We were thinking "********, why now???". So we called family to let them know what happened and that someone will have to come pick us up. Unfortunately we couldn't walk back home since we were 35 miles away at that point AND for someone to come get us would mean sitting in the car for at least a hour and a half.
So after deciding that Andys sis and my sis would drive down to pick us up we sat there in the car, in the cold for an our and a half before they got there. We were freezing and tired and of cource quite aggitated. We transfered all our stuff into their car and made them sit in the back so Andy could drive and I would be passenger. So took off and got a few miles down the road when we realized "Oops, we should'veleft a note on the car so we don't get ticketed". We turned around and went clear back, left a note on the car and got the hell out of there. Another hour and a half later we made it to Tiffin and were exhausted. We went to bed *another story right there* and got up for the whole Easter thing which actually went quite well.
The day ended nicely which was a great relief. We still ad to decide what to do about the car since it was still on the side of the road and how we were going to get it fixed. Well Andy got a bur up his butt that maybe we should get a new car and say ******** the other one. So online searching he went, looking for the right car. He starting applying for a loan to see who would give him the best deal and called our insurance company to see what car insurance would cost *we have renters insurance with State Farm*.
Finally he made a decision.....We were going to tow the car home first thing monday and then go get a car, most likely a hyundai. So after getting up monday and getting things in order we hopped in the car once more and headed for home, another 2 hr drive. We got to the car and called for a tow *$120 I might add* and got it towed back to our place. After that Andy called the insurance people and our bank since they were going to give us a great loan. So we sat and waited for a few call backs then took off for the bank. Took care of a few things there then headed for a Hyundai dealership that happened to be close by.
We pulled in and looked around finally deciding on a 2005 Silver Hyundai Elantra. I have to say it looked pretty sharp and had some nice options. After talking with the salesguy who was awesome we got the final price.....Sticker value was a shade over 15 g's and we got the car for a bit over 14 g's. Talk about a great deal!!! We couldn't believe that's all a really nice 2005 would cost and that the bank was giving us a great loan. While we waited for the bank and the car people to sync up we went back home and played the waiting game.
After a little over an hour we got the call that everything was ready to go and that we could meet the banker at the lot *which NEVER happens* and get things signed and ready. I sat in Andys moms car *which we had to use to get down there* and waited for Andy to finalize everything. After what seemed like another hour he finally came out and the car was pulled up all freshly cleaned and pretty >.<
Andy moved some things into that car and the saleman showed him a few things about the car and we said our good byes. I drove Andys moms car and he drove the new one off the lot. *Andys moms car is also a Hyundai Elantra but a 2004 and it's red with not as many options*. We got home, packed a few things up, ate since we hadn't eaten all day, then left our house around 9pm monday night to head back to Tiffin once more. We had to drop off Andys moms car at her place of work since she kinda wanted it back to drive home instead of having to be picked up. We dropped it off and I hopped in the new one and we headed for Tiffin again.
We got to town a bit after 11, maybe 11:30 and went to Andys moms. We talked to his sister and made sure Caitlin had went to sleep ok since she had been there. After we knew things were ok we went to bed ourselves, only to be woke up between 7:30-8am.....We were not too happy about that after all the driving and lack of sleep we'd been having. So we got ourselves up and around and showed off our new car to family. We visited my mom and siblings then my gram who was thrilled we had something dependable. Then we headed back to Andys mom to say our final goodbyes to them and headed out on the road, which would've been about 7:30-8pm tuesday evening.
We made it home between 9:30-10pm and brought everything in. Caitlin had slept in the car and so had andy part of the way since I got to drive. We put her to bed then just sat for a few and put our feet up....My whole body was just aching and it sucked a** >.<
We went to bed blah blah blah only to wake up yesterday and start our daily routine again, only this time I had the car and it was a beautiful day *70 degree weather*. So Caitlin and I hopped in the car and went to the nearby park to walk around and enjoy the day for a few hours.
So there you have it. That's the story of "How we got our new car" as told by me >.<
I have some more good news as well, or potentially good news. Andy got a bite on a new job finally in the computer field. I guess it's some sort of field tech that goes around and fixes/maintains different types of puters. Someone saw his resume and wanted more info. Apparently he has exactly the qualifications they're looking for and they sound interested in him. Unfortunately they haven't started interviews yet so it's a waiting game for that now. It would be great if he got it though....It pays $16/hr which is a good chunk more than he gets paid now to bust a** all damn day. So with any luck, he'll get that job and we'll start doing ok.
Alrighty.....I've written a long enough story of my life the past few days and I think it's quite enough. I may have left a few things out but god, I can't tell you everything. You'd get too bored though this has to be the most excitement around here in a looonngg time >.<
Take care all you shiny happy people, or dark depressed people *whichever you may be*. That's my story and I'm sticking to it 3nodding
Until next time america.....
