Okay, working on a story for Alice. A modern day Alice. For my shop. Which will open soon, hopefully.
Alice, a young but logical girl with a huge imagination, was bored. Not many people would talk to her enough to even learn her name, for she was called weird by many of them. Maybe it was she liked to wear dresses most of the time. They were just more comfortable. Or maybe because of her imagination, they avoided her. Although she was very good at telling and writing stories. She tended to wander around the neighborhood in her free time, often falling asleep outdoors. Her parents got worried when she did, but eventually they got used to it. When they didn't know where Alice was, they'd simply ask each other, "Did she go outside?" If that was true, they knew she was sleeping. Her favorite spot was by a big oak tree out in the park.
Alice was headed out there to read a new book she had just gotten for her birthday, when she spotted what looked like a little girl. Strangely, she had never seen or heard about her before. Which was strange, considering she had been around here so many times. All she could see before she ran off was a blur of white. Alice called out, but the girl didn't seem to hear her. She was called into dinner at that moment, so Alice left, not giving it another thought.
The next day, Alice went back to the park, the little girl or whatever still in the back of her mind. She was on the swing when she spied her again. Jumping off of the swing, Alice started running after her. As fast as one can run in a dress, anyway. She ran until she couldn't anymore, still not catching her. She looked up, and found that she was in the town next to hers... a place her parents warned her to never go. But alas, she was there, and she needed to find her way home. She asked around a bit, and strangly, no one called her weird there. Although, no one told her exactly how to get home either. The locals had a strange way of talking. It was a peculiar place, she realized, after she had been there a while. Something seemed slightly off about this place. Finally, someone managed to tell her the direction home. After some twists and turns, and a few more encounters, she got home. She raved to her mother about the place she had found, but all she got was a "That's great sweetie," and some dinner. She didn't believe Alice. But Alice didn't mind. She now had a new place to go during the day.
