In general, it looks really accurate to the actual style portrayed in the show. Personally I prefer seeing an individual's personal style, but if you're going to do anime/manga/etc., I think it's a good thing to at least draw from the original, and I see a lot of that here.
Also, the shading is done really nicely. I'm not sure I believe this is your flat-out first time drawing, though. But that's just me.
