this is a nature scene. i was looking for reference on the net and found something i liked, so painted aspects of it and added a fantasy touch to the whole thing by adding diff coloured clouds and those floating islands encased in bubbles, to protect the citizens of course.

else. Desaturate most of the color and put some detail in there (you know, put in information to make it look like a tree). Also, work on the trees in the background. Just like the log, it looks out of place. Work more on detail on the leaves. So pretty much, work on the plants in the atmosphere you are trying to create. - This isn't bad... I love how you did the sky, water and rocks... but the vegetation part of this art piece needs improvement. You're using too many tools on Photoshop and seeing it all meshed up together looks messy. Try to use a small amount of each tool you use and work with it so it can look not only more realistic but less distracting. The thing that bothered me the most is the dodge and burn tool abuse you placed on the log (?) . It stands out too much and it looks awkward with everything
