- Shooting at 500 shutter speed for a photo of the moon with that much contrast is only possible at ISO speeds higher than 800 at least. There is no way you could shoot at ISO of 400 and get that shot at that speed, you could take this picture with a tripod and a shutter speed of 2 or .7.
