  • Well, the lens I have has full time manual focus, the EF 100mm Macro lens, from canon, meaning I can switch on auto focus, but can still manually focus...so that eliminates that problem....I know it's a serious problem, and very annoying, I've ruined many a shots too becuase of this, even when I manually focus! Ecpecially when the DoF is like 2 millimeters across and you can only get half a bugs eye in the full focus.><

  • I cant tell you how many shots I have had to retake bcs the camera and I didnt agree where the focal point of the shot was. I did figure that if i set the focal point and got the right depth set, you can switch off the auto focus and that way you will not have to worry about the next shot. This also works well with high speed stuff too if it is all happening within the same focus range.
