Mastermind was able to project illusions into Jean's mind with the help of Emma Frost, the White Queen of the Hellfire Club. Jean was having episodes where she thought she was reliving the life of her ancestor, Lady Grey. It was through these 'memories' that Mastermind was able to seduce her into joining the Hellfire Club as the Black Queen.

- It's part of the library for the Hellfire Club. They are a sort of gentlemans club if you will.
