Description:
The Silkworm is from the novel James and the Giant Peach. She was omitted from the film.
She mostly enjoys sleeping, but she does make threads to snare 502 seagulls to lift the peach from the ocean; she also helps James save the Centipede with a silk rope. Later, she and Miss Spider go into the nylon business together.
In reality, silkworms are usually boiled in their cocoons before turning into silkmoths. The cocoons are used for silk and the silkworms are often eaten. - Date: 01/25/2009
