This is from the Aesop fable: The Lion and the Mouse.
Lion was captured by hunters and as he roared for help along came Mouse. Earlier that day Mouse had vowed to repay Lion's kindness after Lion let Mouse go instead of eating him. Staying true to his vow Mouse gnawed through the rope trap Lion was in, setting Lion free.
