Description:
He was locked away deep within a night elf maximum security prison for ten thousand years. But when the Burning Legion began an assault on the world, Tyrande Whisperwind broke in and released him in order to use his help to defeat Archimonde and his undead minions. Illidan consumed the skull of Gul'dan in order to gain the power necessary to stop him. This caused him to morph into a night elf/demon hybrid.

Considering Illidan is more of a 'rare' thing to be seen nowdays, people don't give enough credit. Illidan is oriiginally from WC3, not WoW.
