His side kick is a talking parrot, Iago. And is most important tool is his snake staff, which he often used to hypnotize the sultan in order manipulate him.
Sultan: Prince Ali Ababwa! Of course! I'm delighted to meet you. And this is my royal vizier, Jafar. He's delighted, too.
