A beautiful woman, fairest ever to be
She walked lightly, graceful and sweet
Her beauty was quite a rare treat
A poinsettia nestled in her locks
The angels sang when she talked
I had to tell her of these things
The thoughts that in my ears doth ring
The night was drawing to a close
She took her leave, swift on her toes
I pursued her, but my efforts were in vain
My heart had never known such pain
I was such a fool
To chase the Fair Lady of Yule.
