I'm 99% sure it really is just an item.
If you look CLOSELY you'll see that the skin on her upper back is a different colour than her butt.
Why would that be if its the base and therefor a glitch?

- Well I think it's cute even WITH the butt crack showing!!! There are pictures of cupid naked so I think this goes along with her story and gives the avatar character.And if you don't like it because it's "inappropriate" think about this. Almost all of Gaia accounts are made up of teenagers and adults and I would bet money that more than half the teenagers have seen more than an a** crack before! And maybe it shouldn't have placed first but it did so get over it.
