As an Arbiter, Alric cleanses criminals; forcing out negative traits through a painful cycle of death and rebirth, possible because of the sphere tech. While it freed them from the burden of mortality, it left them unable to reproduce. Cleansings are becoming more common, in a gov't attempt to perfect the limited population. Unable to forget past lives, his ideals are conflicted. Does he renounce his immortality, or humanity?
