Captain Magellan's bows were made of the toughest wood of the forest, the art of selecting and preparing it being handed down from one generation to another. It needed tough muscles and trained ones to use the bows, but from the right hands an arrow could be sped with fearful force. Magellan raised his bow feeling the smooth carved surface. The glory of holding a bow with such promise is an honor for him.
