- Description: The Golden Swallowtail butterfly (Papilio glaucas) is a strong flier with distinctive yellow and black markings on its wings and body. This relatively common butterfly is not poisonous, but many females (especially southern subspecies) are darker, mimicking the poisonous Pipevine butterfly. Anything that eats it gets very sick and turns into zombies. To which the Golden Swallowtail takes it upon herself to slay every last one. Her methods are still unknown. The battle is on-going.
