- To clarify, I'm aware that "mer" originates from "mere" and lazily made up a non-existant word using mer from mermaid which sounds like "mur" and not "mere" like in meerkat..in case it somehow isn't clear that it's supposed to be a catgirl turned into a mermaid..because werecatfish sounds monstrous and afaik isn't an official terminology for said mythical creature.

I'm afraid you're mistaken, that's a meerkat. Doesn't sound the some nor is it spelled the same. ^-^

If you want to say that I used the prefic mer incorrectly, you might be able to say that, however, a werecatfish would still be a hybrid of both fish and cats, meaning mercat is still technically a proper usage of said prefix. - Report As Spam
