The last leaves clung willfully to their trees, not yet ready to give in, to let go. She and her vixen friend were a few of the last to take shelter in preparation for the long cold and downright unruly winter ahead of them. They could only play for awhile more before they would have to shut themselves in and wait for the wind, ice, and bitter hail to pass away, and for spring to begin. until then, they enjoyed what was left of autumn as it neared it's end.
