• Artist Info: My story is the same as yours only one chapter ahead, or two perhaps. Hmm wasn't really counting.

I am Captain Jack Sparrow of the Black Pearl, but you may call me Captain Jack Sparrow.

I was born and riased a pirate by the man who may or may not be my father Captain Edward Teague, the keeper of the Piratea Codex. Living with my family wasn't all smiles, no family gatherings were rather deadly. My grandmother might have been near 80 but that didn't stop her from trying to kill me on several occasions savvy? Luckily Teague was always there to save my behind eh? He said it was Grandma's way of showing that she loved me but I didn't buy into that story. But I knew this life of running from the law as a pirate would get me nowhere but in a hangman's noose. And well I have a thing about death. So one night when I was but a lad I snuck out and searched through my maybe father maybe not father's code book and read the part about freedom. And with that I ran off without a trace on my own. Out on my own I learned what it meant to be free and got together a small crew and a mighty ship, the Barnicle. But because of my father that didn't stop the world from lableing me a pirate. I wanted more then anything to get away from that at that point in time.
Eventually I did and I grew up and was an almost law abiding citizen, a captain in the East India Trading Company running odd jobs for Cutler Beckett, transporting cargo back and forth from the New World to the Old World. I was employeed and was not free, but by signing up at least I was not a pirate and escaped what Teague told me I could not. But it all changed one fatefull day or not so fatefull, depends on how you look at it, and I was asked to transport slaves. If there is one thing I hate most in this world it's slavery. So I refused and set them free in Africa. Beckett did not take too kindly to this and had my ship, the Wicked Wench, burned to the bottom of the briney deep, as for my fate? I was branded with a hot iorn a pirate and tossed in jail. But I escaped and was bound and determined to get my ship back even if I had to drag it out of the water all on me onesy. So I made a bargan with Davy Jones, raise the Wench and be Captain for 13 years and after that my soul would be his. I figured I could find a way out of that deal by time my 13 years were up. So the Wench was raised from the deep and renamed the Black Pearl.
Years went by, I was in and out of jail, battles, and crews. I learned to embrace my new outlaw status that came with the branding scar, I learned that being a pirate was what I was meant to be it was all about the freedom. My first mate Hector Barbossa mutinied upon me when we were about to descover Cortez's lost aztec treasure. Now I had heard that there was a curse, but curse or not we all wanted it. But Barbossa took my ship and left me marooned on an island for dead. Meanwhile the curse was real and they were not amung the living nor were they dead. Once I got off the island I stowed away here and there, spent time in Tortuga and Singapore all in hopes of finding my beloved Pearl. But what I didn't know was that fate would bring me to a boy, William Turner, and his beloved Elizabeth Swann. They helped me gain my ship back from Barbossa and I learned about leverage. But not long afterwards Jones came for my soul and then again the welp, his lovely fiance, and myself were linked once more along with some others from my past adventures. This time I was betrayed by Elizabeth Swann, she used my weakness and kissed me long enough to distract me and chain me to the mast, leaving me to die, eaten by Jones' terrible beastie, the Kraken. I spent a while in the locker, with my ship, in a vast desert. No one to talk to but me onesy, and well thats what I did. Until to my amazement all the people who tried to kill me in the past came to my rescue and brought me back to the world of the living. Not out of the fact that they missed me but they needed me....pirates. Barbossa and Tia Dalma needed me for my piece of eight and my status as one of the nine Pirate Lords in order to release the sea goddess Calypso from her human bonds, the welp needed the Pearl in hopes of freeing his father from the clutches of Jones, and Elizabeth...well she just felt guilty and needed me to clear her mind. I come to find out that my old friend Beckett was running amuck with Jones on a leesh, taking control of the seas and abolishing freedom and killing pirates. His goal was to rid the world of piracy, rid the world of free men. In a turn of events Jones was killed, Turner arose the new Captain and now with the combined power of the Pearl and the Dutchman we took back to seas sending Lord Cutler Beckett to his grave. But once again betrayed by my old first mate Barbossa, he took my ship. But what he doesnt know is that I have the map, the map that leads to the fountin of youth, and immortality. With my compass in hand, and rum in the other I've set forth to find both my ship and my immortality. Who knows where the winds will take me, but wherever it takes me I hope theres rum.
