• I'm running through the forest at my fastest speed. Although the cold winter air is biting into my bare skin and my sides are burning, I continue to run for my life. I head toward a thick area in the forest that I can see ahead. And then I hear a deep grisly snarl close to my ear. I realize that whatever is chasing me has started to catch up. I realize I must smell delicious to him because he sounds hungry and my future doesn't look very bright. I trip over some roots sticking out of the ground and as I fall slowly to the ground, my blood curdling scream wakes me up-
I flew upwards in my bed to see Jake and Edward staring at me. They were both in their boxers still and I realized that my entire body was covered in sweat.
"That dream again?" Jake asked me.
Hesitantly I said "Yeah, it wont go away. That's the third time this week I've had this dream- well nightmare anyways."
I looked over at the clock on my bedside table and it read 3:21 a.m.
I sighed and stood up. But I nearly fell back over. Luckily, Jake caught me before I fell onto the floor. Edward still hadn't spoken though. He just stood there at the foot of my four=poster bed, white as a ghost.
"Do you wanna come sleep with me again, Kam?"
"Yeah, I guess." I told Jake, after he asked me the question.
Jake flashed me his beautiful breath-taking smile. When he smiled I could see his glistening white fangs. I couldn't move just yet because his smile dazed me. He gathered me into his arms then and carried me across the hallway into his bedroom. He sat up on his huge four-poster mahogany bed, which was a bigger version of mine.
"Now , just stay put right here, ok? I'm going to go get you some aspirin and a glass of water. Then i'll be right back. Don't move!"
Jake turned and walked out the room when I shook my head yes.

"Ugh! Ed, what am I gonna do?! I mean, Kamara cannot keep having these dreams or she will go completely insane!' Jake said to Edward as he searched through the cabinets for the aspirin for Kamara.
"I don't know Jake. But, she will be ok as long as you don't leave. You know she's probably having the dreams because she's nervous about you leaving. I mean You haven't left the poor girl in years. She's scared to death that somethings gonna happen to you when you go. She doesn't wanna lose you. I keep telling you that she is in love with you. But you won't listen to me."
"I know. But, how do I know for sure? She doesn't show it."
"Dude." Edward sighed. "I bet you I know why you won't believe that she's in love with you."
    "Why?"
"Because you're a vampire prince. And you think that because for now she's still human, she doesn't like you. You think that she should be scared of you. But, face it Jake. She isn't scared of you, nor will she ever be scared of you!"
Ed's words stopped Jake right while he was about to reach up to grab the bottle of medicine. "Oh my god, Ed, you are so right." Jake sat down in the nearest chair and put his head in his hands. "But look at me. I'm a monster! I could hurt her so easily, and we both know it. You know the only reason I let her stay here in the first place is because she has nowhere else to go!" Jake sighed and got up. He went over to the sink and filled up a glass with ice cold water and grabbed 2 aspirin out of the bottle. Then he headed back up the stairs into his bedroom.

Jake walked back into the room then. He handed me the aspirin and the water and I gulped both pills down with a drink of water. Jake just stood there for a few long moments and stared at me. He took my face into both of his large hands. He stood there for a few more moments holding my face until finally i shivered from the coolness of his skin. That's when he let go of me and sighed. I didn't want to break the peaceful silence, although I wanted to yell at him and call him a fool for not realizing that I was more in love him than I should be. I wanted him to know exactly how I felt. But, instead of saying anything I sat there. With my legs crossed and my hands in his hands- for he had slid his hands down my arms and slipped my small delicate hands into his big cool hands. It was starting to get tense, then he said something to me that i'd never even heard him speak to anyone in his life.
He looked at me, at with a huge sigh he said, "Kam, you- I- I love you."
"I love you, too, Jake. But-"
    "But what?"
    "Never mind."
    "Ok."
He slid me over and crawled up onto the bed next to me and said, "Lie down." I did. I layed my head on his pillow and he wrapped his cool arms around my waist. I pressed my small body into the shape of his cool rock like body. It was true. I did love him. We both lied there, lost in our own thoughts, what was left unsaid hovering above our heads. Just out of our reach.

The next morning I awoke to the feel of Jake's hand on my forehead.
"She has a fever I think." He was telling Edward.
The 2 brothers were hovering over me talking in low voices. I felt like I was going to be sick. I flew out of the bed and sprinted toward the bathroom. After i got sick, I rinsed my face in the sink with cool water and walked back into Jake's room. Ed jumped up from the bed and Jake stopped pacing the length of his bedroom and stared into my face. Nobody said anything and both Jake and Ed continued to stare at me. I could only hope I didn't look as bad as I felt.
"Do you want me to cancel my trip, Kam?" Jake asked me concerned.
"NO!" I yelled at him. "No, i'll be fine here with Ed. You're only gonna be gone for a week. I'll be fine enough with ED."
    "Are you sure?!"
    "Yes." I assured him.

A few short hours later, Ed and i stood on the front porch and watched Jake roll away in the cab. After a quick goodbye kiss from Jake, i wished I had told him that yes I wanted him to stay. And as Edward and stood on the front porch of the huge house, I anticipated the next week without Jake. For I had hoped he had finally realized just how much I loved him.
