• “I can’t believe you’re really moving!!” whimpered Ezras.
“I know, I wish I could stay here with you.” Said Aaron trying to comfort his girlfriend.
“Even so it doesn’t stop your dad from getting a job on the other side of the state!! This is just so frustrating. I will only be able to see you this summer. Oh ya! Don’t forget to email me your new number and address!!”
“Baby, I swear on all my love for you, you’ll get it.”
“Ezras grabbed Aaron, squeezed him tight and started sobbing and saying over and over I love you so much.
“Hey baby” said Ezras who was out of breath because she ran down from her room to get the phone, and walked outside to the backyard.
    “Hey sexy” replied Aaron
    “How was your day?”
    “Good and you?”
“Umm ok I guess” sighed Ezras
    “What’s wrong?”
“Just that you’re so far away and everything Is just so frustrating right now, with moving to my Grandma’s, getting my grades up, and waiting for summer to see you!”
    “Yeah I understand”
“Well at least someone does! I feel like no one cares sometimes, especially my parents.” As she whispered the last part. She since before she can remember had been hurt by being pushed away from her parents and them always having something better or more important to them than her. She had a lot of anger toward them but didn’t hate them. She just couldn’t understand how all her friends said how great of a person she was and her parents didn’t care to find out. This really upset her..
“Well you know I love you.” And he really meant it even though they were both in the 9th grade they were lucky. They already found the person that they truly loved and wanted to be with forever. That even when no one else could make them happy, they could make each other smile and laugh.
“I know I still can’t believe someone actually does!”
    “Of course I do! Why wouldn’t I?”
“I don’t know I just don’t know why anyone would. There’s nothing special about me, and I think I’m crazy.” As she laughs at the thought of her being crazy.
“You’re not because if you were I wouldn’t be dating you.”
“Are you sure? Maybe you’re crazy and that’s why you love me.”
“I’m not crazy, well maybe.” He said jokingly.
“Well I got to go, love you.”
    “Love you too.”
    “Bye”
    “Bye”

“Hey, are you done with your homework?” asked Ezras soon to be guardian
“Yes Grandma!” she said with an annoyed tone as she was running up the stairs, with her little brown Dotson right behind her. When she got to her room she turned on her radio to rewind her day before she went to sleep.
“What was that?” she whispered to herself when she woke up with her heart beating at 50 miles per hour, it seemed after she dreamed of a door calling her.

“Aaron I had the strangest dream last night!” said Ezras.
“Really?” asked Aaron with a curious tone.
“Yes and in my dream I was in a pure white room and there was a door in the middle. It had my name across the top and it looked as if it had been shattered perfectly. Also it was calling to me!” explained Ezras.
“No way!” exclaimed Aaron. “I had that same dream but with a door for me.” His door was solid strong, confident looking.
The next night when she had the dream again she opened the door and stepped through it. “Oh wow! This is so spectacularly snazzy!” she exclaimed. As she looked around it looked like a forest. It was so beautiful! There was a huge waterfall surrounded by trees that touched the sky. As she walked around she noticed how quiet and peaceful it seemed until all of a sudden she had a feeling someone else was there. She strained her eyes for something out of the ordinary. (Even though she had never been there before.) When she saw a girl on one of the rocks by the waterfall. As she cautiously walked up to her to say hello she had already been spotted.
“Hello” said the girl very friendly. She was not really tall but not short either, she looked kind of like a tomboy but then not really. She was wearing a dark green sweatshirt and dark blue jeans. Her hair was blonde/brown and she had it up in a ponytail. She was very pretty, Ezras was jealous. Ezras never thought she was pretty no matter what anyone (including Aaron) told her.
“Hi” she replied, not yet sure what to make of the situation.
    “My name is Billiebob.”
    “What an odd name!”
You don’t think Ezras is an odd name?”
“Huh!” Ezras gasped “how do you know my name?”
“Because I’m a reflection of your best friend. I’ve been waiting here for you to arrive, I’m here to help you with everything and anything, and also to be your guide.”
“Ok well then answer this for me, why was my name on the door and why was it calling to me?”
“Because believe it or not this is your soul and some things need to be fixed.”
“What! I’m in my own soul and what problems?”
“Yes and you have to face your fears and beat your problems. Oh yes and while you’re here you will find people you know, either the ones you really care about or the ones that caused you grief or stress.”
“Ok, so how do we get started?”
“First we have to travel to your head to see what is blocking you from thinking like you should. Then to the spirit, then last which will be hardest the heart. We will stay here tonight then we will set out tomorrow.” They made a fire, beds with the greenest, softest leaves they could find and went to sleep. As Ezras slept she dreamt of her boyfriend who she missed dearly. She wanted to feel his lips against hers, his warm body close to hers. She wanted to listen to his heartbeat, make sure he is real and not someone she imagined. She missed that comfortable feeling she got around him, Ezras couldn’t wait to see him again.
“Oh that’s weird” said Aaron to himself after he got off the phone with Ezras and just found out they had the same dream about the doors calling to them.
“I wonder what it means.” Talking to himself again.
“Seems more like a book than real life, maybe I’ll have that dream again. Or let’s see if I can imagine it and open the door.” As he closed his eyes and saw nothing.
“Come on I can do it, I know exactly what it looks like.” He tried harder then the shape of the door appeared.
“Haha!” he said happily then after a little bit longer it came into detail.
“Yes!” he exclaimed he was very proud of himself. He saw himself walking through the door, then he wasn’t in the room anymore.
“Oh geezeness.” He didn’t know what to think he wasn’t sure where he was. It was dark as night but everything seemed as if it were day. There was a house, he remembered from somewhere. There were a couple trees, mostly pine, around the house, but it still looked very lonely.
He felt pulled toward the house as if he should go in but he wasn’t sure. After a few minutes he finally got the courage to go inside. He knocked first but no answer.
“Hello! Anyone home?” he yelled and again no answer. He tried the front door and it was unlocked. He walked around carefully taking note of all he saw. Then he knew where he was, a house from his hometown. He had moved a lot in his life and this was the place he loved most. He ran to where his old room was and flung open the door. In shock, he didn’t even see the person sitting on the bed. He looked around the room it hadn’t changed at all. When he finally noticed the guy, he was calm and had some idea of what was going on..
    “Hello” He said very politely.
“Hi” Replied the boy. “I have been waiting for you.”
“Yes I know. This is my soul isn’t it?” He questioned.
“Yes, you are very smart, but do you know what has to be dome or who I am?”
“I have an idea of it all but I’m not sure. I think I’m here to fix some thing or make something right. Also I think you are a old childhood friend of mine, Jessie.”
“You are very clever. Don’t let anyone tell you different. I’m Jessie, and I’m going to help you unblock your head, spirit and most important your heart.” He stood up from the bed fixed his blonde almost white hair and wiped off his black pants. He was wearing a red sweatshirt and he was quite tall. Aaron was surprised when he got up because he didn’t look that tall sitting down.
    “So where do we begin?”
“Tonight you will rest and we will set off tomorrow”

Ezras couldn’t sleep much that night she was still in awe about what had happened. And she still had Aaron on her mind. She awoke by the sun glimmering over the trees into her eyes.
“Here eat this” said Billiebob handing Ezras a bowl of rice with some soy sauce.
    “Thank you” replied Ezras sweetly.
“You need to eat it all, you’re going to need your strength for our travels today. Luckily I have found us some unicorns to ride.”
“Unicorns!?” screamed Ezras. “Are you serious?” she asked.
“Of course I am, how else do you think we get around? Dragons?” She asked sarcastically.
“Dragons too!? I thought that was imaginary?”
“Of course it is in real life but this world is all about you.”
Ezras rode the black unicorn, Billiebob rode the white. The landscape changed dramatically, from forests to mountains to rivers, to the city. They stopped for about an hour.
“Don’t be surprised, but everyone in town you know or you have affected positively or negatively. Some of them you might not have even known but they knew you.” Said Billiebob much quieter than when they were alone. Ezras just shook her head yes. She would never be ready for this. They entered a little coffee shop, and they sat down by the window. It seemed peaceful enough but she hadn’t seen 1 person since she met Billiebob. She wasn’t sure why so she asked
“Why haven’t I seen anyone but you?”
“The reason is that most of the people here only come when they think about you. Only their soul comes and the only thing they talk about is you.”
“How can someone else’s soul come into mine?” Ezras asked who was very confused now. “Only a reflection of their soul can and only after they have been effected enough by or to you to remember you. Their reflection can’t talk to others though, only says what’s on their mind.” Explained Billiebob, as soon as she was finished Mellissa appeared. She was Ezras best friend in 6th grade who had problems going on in her life at the time and who Ezras would never forget. “She is here often Ezras, you have effected her very much. In a positive way though, she thanks you every time she is here for giving her strength that she needed in a time of pain. When you met her she was going through the worst stuff she will ever have to. Now she is happy living with her grandparents and loving her life.”
“Wow, I’m glad to help but I wish I could talk to her she was one of the bestest friends I will ever have.”
“She feels the same.” After they ate they were on their way again. “How much farther till we reach my head?” asked Ezras getting a little impatient. “We are almost there, you will know when we arrive.” The closer they got the sadder everything looked around her. The trees had leaves missing or even branches.

A strange blue light started glowing, and when they found the source Ezras knew it was her brain. “Your biggest problem here is the fear of being wrong, of making mistakes and of being alone. No one can help you with this fight it is all yours. You won’t be able to see your fear at all, but it won’t be able to physically hurt you, it doesn’t seem scary now but it will be a tough fight. It is not physical this fight will be mental. It will test the strength of your will. Are you ready?” asked Billiebob
“Yes” she replied not very confident.
“Then walk into the light and it will begin and after you can rest.” Ezras shook her head yes and walked through

The next morning Aaron and Jessie set out to find his mind. His soul was more of a twisted path, more complicated and interesting than Ezras.
“What sort of thing do I have to do to clear my mind?” asked Aaron after he thought about it all night and day.
“You have to face your biggest fear and defeat it. Do you know what it is?” Aaron thought about it and what he was afraid of most, he wasn’t afraid of anything off the top of his head. Then he remembered his girlfriend, how much he loved her and how much it would hurt to lose her again. That was his fear even though he trusted her, loved her and knew how much she loved him but still he had that fear in the back of his mind.
“Yes I do. I fear losing the love of my life.” He answered deep in thought. Jessie nodded in agreement
“I can understand that.” He answered with sincerity
They called upon a race of high-bred dragons called flons to help them get around. (Flons are dragons that are small and can be pets) Aaron wasn’t as surprised about the mystical creatures as Ezras was. On the way to his head the landscape became more of a wooded area and (even though not very much) darker. Eventually they made it.
They landed and Jessie explained “Ok here’s what’s gonna happen, you have to enter here,” as he pointed to a gap in the trees. “Then it begins. This is a mental fight. No one can help you, it’s only your fight. Are you ready?”
“Yes as I’ll ever be.” He replied sounding pretty confident but not too sure of himself.

Ezras wasn’t too sure of what was going to happen. She felt very light and heavy at the same time. Then she heard voices saying “You’re stupid”, “Incorrect”, “You’re gonna end up alone”, and worst of all “You don’t deserve Aaron, he could do better.” She really tried hard not to listen and she shouted back “No, I’m smart!”, “Mistakes make me stronger!”, “I have Aaron, I’ll never be alone anymore!” and “Aaron loves me I do deserve him!” She felt very dizzy and faint. Soon the voices became less frequent and quieter, when they finally went away, she was proud she knew she won. She opened her eyes and Billiebob was right beside her. She collapsed and Billiebob caught her.

When she woke back up she was lying in a bed in the town she was last at. Which she found out was called port tingel.
“You did great!” Billiebob applauded her and handed her a big bowl of soup.
“What will I have to do?”
“I will tell you when it’s time”
“Thanks, how long have I been sleeping?”
“1 week” Billiebob paused dranitiely “Just joking only about 3 hours.”
“Well I feel a lot better even though I have a splitting headache.”
“Yes, that’s going to be gone soon but in the meantime drink this.” Billiebob handed her a cup of hot green tea. “It will help.”
    “Thanks” said Ezras graciously.
“We will head towards your spirit when you are ready, this one won’t be hard at all.”
“What will I have to do?”
“I will tell you when it’s time”

Aaron wasn’t that nervous, he had an idea of what was about to occur but his fear was bigger than he thought. He first felt as if he was he were going to get sick he was spinning around and around. When he finally stopped he fell to the floor. When he opened his eyes he saw Ezras was standing with another guy. He stood she spoke up then to him.
“I’m sorry,” she said “but I don’t love you anymore. I love Jeremy!” She pointed to the other boy. “I’m leaving you forever.”
“No you aren’t” he shouted “no you can’t you said you would love me forever and that you wanted to spend the rest of your life with me!”
“Oh that, I was lying. I fooled you didn’t I?”
“No you were telling me the truth anyway, this is just my fear, the real Ezras would never do this to me.”
“Are you sure about that?” She said mockingly
“Yes” as soon as he said that he was back on the ground outside of the hole in the trees.
“You did spectacularly!” said Jessie congratulating him. “We will stay here tonight and tomorrow we are off to your spirit.” Aaron nodded his head yes. He was really glad it was over. He couldn’t wait to see his love again and give her a big hug. Jessie handed him a bottle of water and he drank it sparingly. His stomach was still spinning.

When Ezras awoke she met yet another of her good friends.
“Ezras this is Fang, fang this is Ezras.” introduced Billiebob.
    “Hello” said Ezras.
    “Hiya” said Fang
“Now that we know each other let’s go over today.” Said Billiebob “We have to get to your spirit and face past problems, yours is how much you hate being alone.”
    Ezras nodded.
“Can we ride the unicorns?” begged Fang
    “Of course” replied Billiebob
    “Yes!” Ecstatically said Fang
The ride seemed long and the landscape was dark, and depressive. When it seemed the rain would stop it poured down harder. Ezras was glad for her midnight blue cloak Billiebob gave her. Billiebob’s was forest green and Fang’s was blood red, and now all of them had black unicorns.
After what seemed like an eternity of wandering Ezras had to ask.
“Will I ever see Aaron again?” she asked almost begging.
“Of course, sooner than you think but we have to get this done first.” replied Billiebob.
“I really miss him I haven’t seen him for over 7 months.” Said Ezras
“Yes, but with his and your passionate love for each other you could go 6 years without even speaking and have a good relationship.” Said Fang reassuringly
“I would go crazy if I couldn’t talk to him and make sure he is ok.” Whispered Ezras just thinking about it.
“He is fine I can tell you that, he just has his own stuff he’s going through right now.” Said Fang winking sheepishly
“Wait, do you mean that he is doing what I’m doing too?” asked Ezras “and how would you guys know that?”
“We have our ways.” They both said at the same time.
“Ways? And what are they?” asked Ezras
“Well, let’s just say you’re supposed to be with him, one way or another. Meaning as best friends or more. So you’re connected, so we can tell.” explained Billiebob.
“No way!” exclaimed Ezras who was very excited now “I knew it! I knew we were going to end up together!”
Fang and Billiebob just galloped along snickering with one another. As the forest became a labyrinth Ezras had to ask one more thing.
“Why is it so dark and sad here?”
“Because that’s how you feel deep inside very empty and sad, because your life has been hard for you and yes as it has made you stronger it also made you sad and angry. explained Fang.
After Ezras asked she realized she knew all along she just did want to know. When they arrived to her spirit it wasn’t nearly as bright as her brain, it looked as if it were about to burn out with any wind or rain. Ezras was glad it was covered by all the plants.
“Oh no!” exclaimed Ezras by the sight.
“Yes it is bad but it has stayed lit that’s the good thing.” said Fang.
“How could this ever stay lit?” said Ezras still flabbergasted
“By the love from Aaron, and your grandma, not to mention your aunts, uncles and sisters, oh ya and your friends!” said Fang.
“But the reason it is almost out is because you have faced more than any 15 year old is expected to.”
After that night’s needed rest Aaron and Jessie were ready to go. Jessie made sure Aaron knew that they were going to his spirit then he had a surprise for him.
“Wait, before we go there’s someone you need to meet said Jessie
Aaron stopped turned to look at Jessie and gave him a sideways look.
“Who?” he asked as his mind was going 50 miles per hour trying to figure out who it could possibly be.
“Me of course!” said a familiar voice that startled him. He turned around so fast he almost fell over.
“Zach!” he said half questioning half in surprise.
“Yeppers that’s me!” he was a tall slender boy his hair was black and wiry. He wore a plain dark blue almost black t-shirt with jeans.
After about one hour of riding the flons Aaron saw how deeply he was effected by Ezras. The tree’s that started to wither were growing, stronger than ever, but there are some negative effects from Ezras too. Hidden deep deep inside of him from her not seeing how much he really loved her and dealt with her negativity about everything. And one day soon this was going to explode out of him. He couldn’t deal with all the stress from her. But since he never told her how was she supposed to know. If she did she would have changed, she would do anything for him. She loved him and always would.
When they reached his spirit it was so much brighter then Ezras. No wind, rain or anything could ever burn his out. It was strong, solid, independent.
“Ok so now I have to face my past problems?”
“Yes, yours is going to be you not being able to fit in with the kids at school. Feeling out of place.” Said Zach making sure he knew. But he already did he didn’t need told. He was ready he reached for the light then…

Ezras knew how strong this feeling of hate was so she knew how hard it was going to be but she had her family, friends, and most importantly the one who gave her happiness, Aaron. As she walked toward the faint light shining from her faint spirit.

She was in a forest nothing looked familiar. She didn’t know where to go. Confused she ran as fast as her legs could carry her. After a while she collapsed on the ground. Sobbing she heard something, twigs breaking, foot steps. The light was so bright it was almost unbelievable. Then it stopped Aaron opened his eyes and saw a forest before him. He had a pulling motion, which led him. Surprised Aaron heard familiar crying. When he reached the source he saw a person who had fallen it seemed. When they got up it was Ezras!!
“Hello!” she said in surprise she saw a face which she longed for.
“Aaron!” she screamed in delight and ran toward the loving face.
“Ezras!” he said his excitement rising. They fell into each others warm embrace. It felt so good to touch again. Like scratching a really bad itch.
“Ezras we need to talk.” said Aaron.
“Ok, I’m listening.” She replied not quite sure if she wanted to hear this or not.
“I think it would be best for us to break up.” He sounded upset.
“Why?” she asked not knowing what else to say.
    “I can’t support you.”
It took Ezras a few minutes for this surprise to register. Her whole world just fell apart in the hands of the one who she loved more than life itself.
Then she was running back in her room like she never even left but she knew she did, because the pain started pouring into her heart. She started sobbing uncontrollably. One week ago she couldn’t even imagine this day even occurring. Yet again deep inside she knew it was going to happen. She said everything to him and most of the time she didn’t pay attention to how it would effect him. She was so selfish and now it was too late.

“Me and Aaron broke up” she told her friends. Most replied with sorry others asked why, she just told them what he told her. That day at school was one of the worst. She needed her best friend who she could tell anything to. But would he talk to her, she had to try.
“Aaron.” She said relieved he would talk to her.
    “I’m sorry, I really am.
    “It’s ok” he replied
    “Can I talk to you?”
    “Yeah sure what’s up?
“Well you’re my best friend and I just had a bad day. And I’m surprised you’re even talking to me.”
“Of course, we can still be friends.”
That hurt she didn’t want to be just friends. She loved him and always would. But she was glad she at least had his friendship.
“Best friends. I can tell you everything!”
    “Ok”
Ezras was holding back tears. Later she talked to her sisters and grandma about it and they made her feel better. Saying sometimes you got to let love go but if it’s true it will come back to you. So she let him go. Her heart was now cleared and free, so was his. She always kept the hope in her heart that he would change his mind. If she knew this all before she would have tried to fix it before he did that but now she felt it was too late. All she could do is wait for him, she had no clue how long but she would wait eternity for him.
