• Oscar Caldwell walks into the enormous castle with his love, Emily Adams. “Wow, this place is so beautiful,” Emily said as she looks around at all the other people dancing in costumes. “Yes it is my dear,” Oscar replies and then offers his hand to Emily, “Would you like to dance?” Before Emily is able to answer, the sound of trumpets fill the ballroom and a man dressed in green with a yellow mask and a hat with a purple feather comes out of the doors on the top of the stairs in the far center of the ballroom. “Presenting the almighty, the all powerful, and king of England, King Jason Reindheart.” All the people in the room applaud and the doors open wide. A man, dressed in a white suit with a black cape and mask, steps out of the doorway and says, “Welcome my kind and loyal people. Thank you all for coming and please enjoy your stay.” As the king walks down the stairs, a woman dressed in a red dress and a half black, half white mask, catches his eye.“It’s the king himself! Isn’t he so wonderful?” Emily shouts at the site of the king. “If you ask me, he’s just spoiled and is so used to getting everything he wants,” Oscar replies in a bitter voice. “Well I think he’s magnificent and he’s handsome too!” Emily walks away from Oscar and into the crowd of dancing people. Oscar chases after her but gets lost in the crowd. Jason walks through the crowd looking for the woman he saw before and bumps into Emily making her fall. “I’m sorry my dear maiden. Are you alright?” James asks and helps Emily up. “Yes, I’m alright,” Emily looks up at the man who ran into her and becomes amazed at the sight of the king right in front of her. The king smiles and says to Emily, “It is you.” Emily becomes confused and says “You were looking for me?” and the king replies by saying “Yes, would you like to dance?” Emily takes his hand and starts to dance slowly with the king. Oscar looks through the crowd, searching for Emily but has no luck and walks to the side where everyone is dancing. Jason and Emily dance together until Jason sees a wedding ring on Emily’s finger. “You are married?” Jason says looking directly into Emily’s eyes. Emily looks into his eyes as well and replies, “No, no I am engaged but do not worry, for I do not love this man.” Jason says to her, “If you do not love him, why are you marrying him?” “See, my father has arranged me to marry him but I am still young and want to search for my love myself,” Emily explained. “I understand now,” Jason says with a soft voice. “Why were you looking for me?” Emily asks with curiosity. “I saw your beautiful, blonde hair shining like the rays of the sun and now I see that your eyes are like emeralds,” Jason replies and smiles. Emily blushes and replies with gratitude, “Thank you my lord.” Oscar decides to search for her again and walks back into the crowd. He stops in shock at the sight of his beloved Emily dancing with the king. He gets jealous and runs out of the crowd and wonders the castle. He walks into a room which seems to be the library. Oscar walks towards a fireplace on the far right and stares at the weapons hung on top of it. There is a sword pointing straight up and on each side of it there is a small dagger. He grabs it and puts it on his belt and closes his long coat to hide the dagger. Oscar walks back into the ballroom and searches for King Jason and Emily. Jason stares deeply into Emily’s eyes and says “You are so beautiful. I can’t stand that someone else has you.” Emily looks down for a while thinking of what to say. She looks back up at Jason and says “I can tell my father to cancel the wedding! He’ll do it if I tell him that I fell in love with the king and that you love me back!” “That sounds like a fantastic idea but what will happen to that poor man Oscar. Does he not love you? He’ll be devastated.” The king replied in concern. “He will live and if he really does love me he would be happy for me to marry someone I truly love,” responded Emily with a slight attitude. “You are right, my dear. Thank you,” Jason kisses her gently. Oscar finds the two kissing and becomes so enraged. He reaches for the dagger and pulls it out. Emily and Jason begin to dance again. Oscar aims and throws the dagger at Jason but it hits Emily. She falls to floor and dies. Oscar starts to cry, runs over to get the dagger and points it to Jason’s face. Guards run into the room and shoot Oscar. He falls gently beside Emily. Jason falls on his knees and stares into both dead faces.
