• Lea kept running down the sidewalk, constantly looking back behind her to check if the men were following her, “Lea?” Lea looked up at the front porch of Mrs. Smith’s house.
Mrs. Smith sat there drinking a cup of tea, she watched Lea concerned, “Are you okay?”
Lea breathed a sigh of relief and collapsed, she couldn’t believe she had run a whole five blocks. She guessed fear might have given her an extra boost.

    “Thank you, Mrs. Smith”
“No problem” she smiled, “I’m just happy you’re okay”
“I guess it was pretty freaky seeing the two, and the way they dressed” after having run from the two she had taken refuge in Mrs. Smith’s house, the only person she and her mother knew and trusted, “But, I don’t understand why they’d want me!” Lea sighed, feeling the golden leafy garnish on the tea cup Mrs. Smith had given her. Lea looked out the window hoping to see the men’s’ car leaving the neighborhood.
“I understand why such…audacious reprobates would want to attack or harm you, now by the way you described them, it sounds like you’re the…never mind, did you recently receive a letter saying, once two worlds have met at dawn, three realms will cut the chase, and blood and the sun will be one?”
“Did you send that!?” Lea asked, surprised at the possibility that Mrs. Smith could have sent her the mysterious letter. Just last week Lea had received a mysterious letter saying exactly what Mrs. Smith told her. Lea had been a little freaked out then.
    “No, no, child, I just know that…you see…never mind, I’m endangering myself…”
“What?” Lea was completely confused now, “What do you…”
Suddenly Mrs. Smith seemed to drip like liquid down onto the tiled floor, what had once been her was now a small green liquid, Lea gasped, but when she bent over to touch it Mrs. Smith’s voice emanated from it, “This is what I am child,” her voice seemed like percolating water, and was runny but quite fluid, “I am a shape shifter, and this is your world!”
    “My world?”
“Yes, you see, we live in a different world from humans, and you are a nature sprite, have you noticed anything strange?”
“Yes, sometimes animals come closer to me than any normal one…and plants seem to brighten at my touch…what!?”
“Then you are who I think, you are the last daughter of Zeus, you see, the nature and land sprites are all dead, but you and the two men you saw, but those sprites are of the dark sort-oh! Here they come, goodbye dear child, try to figure out the riddle before they get in here, go down to the basement, it shouldn’t be all that hard!”
Lea looked out the window and gasped, the car was just pulling in, and when Lea asked for Mrs. Smith to help she was gone. So Lea followed Mrs. Smith’s instructions and dashed down into the basement, locking the three doors between her and the men.
She heard them bash several times on the front door and heard them yelling, but there was no time to listen to them quarrel. Lea turned around and looked around in the half dark basement, there were several boxes there, and one was labeled "old camping equipment". Lea shuffled through it, hoping to find a pack of pepper spray, and sure enough, she found a whole package of twenty four cans of pepper spray, "Unless these guys have to take twenty four of these I don't think I'll need the rest..." Lea shoved them back into the box after arming both hands with cans, Lea poised herself, ready to run or fight.
