• I woke up. It was December 15th. My favorite day, my birthday. I smelled the air. In the past, every morning I would wake up and smell the wonderful scents and aromas coming from the kitched, waiting for me to eat. But today.. today it smelled crisp.. and it wasn't a good smell. I walked into the kitchen. I was feeling very sick and I had to plug my nose to prevent myself from throwing up.
The kitchen was covered in fluid. It was a deep red. Blood. The floor tiles were covered in blood. My mother was laying on the stove, burning. She seemed skinnier than usual. All that was left of her were some skin and bone. Her internal organs were nesting in pots, pans, in drawers. I was crying. I couldn't breathe without throwing up, I was watching my mother die, if not already dead. I was overpowered by depression.
    I screamed. I couldn't take it!
Beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep, beep. I heard my alarm going off. I sat up, sweating all over. Something was wrong. I had been dreaming, but I could've sworn I could smell blood. I walked out of my room and into the hall. My mother was dragging an arm that seemed like it belonged to my sister. I ran up to my mother and stabbed her hard with a pencil. She started screaming and crying. She turned around, her face pinched and her hair flowing with blood.
I saw her face and I began to cry. This was not my mother. I hit myself over and over and over. I wasn't dreaming. This was the real thing. I was now covered in blood and the dinner I ate the night before. I was so drenched in blood my skin would probably always have a red tint to it.
I got up and ran and ran and ran. I wasn't very fast. I was only six years old. My REAL mother was driving down the street. She didn't recognize me first, but when she did she stopped her car and picked me up and didn't even bother getting back in the car and starting running to the nearby hostpital.
Beep. I heard. Beep. I heard again. This kept going on for a while. I heard a voice. It was a doctor. As soon as I opened my eyes he out a flashlight over my eye. He pressed different buttons as the color of the light cycled through the rainbow backwards. As soon as it god to red I started to scream so loud, other nurses and doctors started coming in to see what was going on.
