• Chapter 1~ The First Meeting

I listened to the sound of my ski's as I shredded the brand new snow on our local slopes. It was perfect powder and felt soft but firm underneath my feet. I slid to a stop at the base of the ski lift and glided up to the chair. Going up i looked around and saw a few snowboarders going down and going over some jumps.
"Nice one dude!" One friend said to his comrade. I looked down to see the guy had whipped out.
"Ah, crap!" He shouted. I was about to get off so when I did I went over to him. I had some basic training in first aid so I wanted to make sure that he didn't need to go to the ER.
"Hey you OK?" I asked him, he was on his knees looking down the hill with a dumbfounded expression on his face.
"I-I-I-I'm fine.... but my board is going down the hill on it's own accord," he stammered.
"I'll get it," I said and was off down the slope before he could object. His board got to the bottom before me but I grabbed it and went back up the lift again. When I went over him he looked up at me as if I was a crazy person. I carried his board over and went over the jump he fell at.
"Thanks but you didn't have to do that," he said reattaching his feet to his board.
"Really no problem. I needed to do some speed skiing anyway."
    He snorted.
"What?" I asked, I gave him a skeptical look through my goggles.
"Well it's just the skiing thing."
    "Is something wrong with skiing?"
"No, just... well I haven't meet a single girl that does both skiing and boarding. And one that really wears a helmet," he said as he tapped the helm of my helmet.
"FYI I do board and ski. And wearing a helmet is smart. I don't want to smack into someone or the ground and have to go to the ER for a head injury," I snorted back at him to hide that fact that my heart had skipped a beat.
"Hey Chris! Are you done yet?" One of his friends yelled at him.
"Yeah hang on! So are you coming back anytime soon?"
"I guess. I might be back with my board tomorrow. This is why I love winter break. Speaking of winter break you look familiar. What school do you go to?"
"Mid-Western High. Junior year. What's your name? Oh right, Chris Silver."
"Kelly. Hmm... Ohhhhhh Chris Silver. Oh," I shrugged. "Later." And with that I speed away from Chris but something told me that I would be seeing him very soon and not just in school.
