• Chapter 2: Liam's Story
The next morning I was woken up by Emma's begging. "Can we please go to the park! Please, please, please! Mark said we'll only go if he has help, which is you. Pleeeeeeeeeease," "FINE!" I yelled getting out of bed. "Mark we're going to the park!" "YES," Eric shouted. "I knew she would give in from the begging! Five bucks please!" "WHAT!? No far," Mark yelled. Emma skipped out of my room so I could get ready.
When we were in the car Mark drove slow and easy through the thick fog. The park looked fun, but I just sat on the swings. The only person who didn't play much was Liam. He sat watching his sister from the side lines and didn't even smile when Lily beat Eric in a race.
I decided to go over and talk to him. Out of everyone, Liam was the one who interested me the most. "Hey, Liam," I said sitting on the grass next to him. He looked up at me and smiled. "Hey, Riley," "So...why aren't you playing with the others? I mean you seem so sad," His smile disapeared. "Riley...do you know, besides you, the most recent to come here," He asked. "Uh, no? Who," He looked down and sighed. "Lily and I...have been here for only two months. And I still can't get over what happened to us," Liam said breathing slower.
"Riley, do you know how it feels to watch someone you love just...disapear and never be able to come back," He sighed and hid his face in his arms. It started to rain, the perfect weather for the scene Liam was making. I wasn't the only one watching. Mark slowly picked Liam up and said, "Time to go home," I had never seen everybody so...gloomy? Lily fallowed behind Mark, petting her brothers head like a mother would to her crying baby.
