Blue flashed before him as 2nd Lieutenant Tyler "Fearless Leader" Douglass watched the Spartan fall. An honor guard Elite appeared from thin air clutching the energy sword that fell the legendary warrior. He clicked his mandibles and raised them into what could be called a grin. Without thinking, Douglass tossed a plasma grenade at the Elite, sticking it dead center in the chest. The Elite growled and ran in panic, An explosion of blue and purple filled the air the Elite once stood, sending blood and body parts everywhere.Letting out a a sigh of relief, Douglass slowly walked over to the Spartan. It was Spartan L13, also known as FOX. He had been part of the mission to infiltrate and sabotage the Covenant shipyard Undying Breath. Douglass remained silent as he knelt down to remove the memory index from in behind the helmet. He gently pushed down on it and pulled it free. Funny though, was the fact that it was much larger than most UNSC implants. He didnt have long to think before the garbled voices of Elites and Grunts came from up the path.
He got to his feet and started running to the extraction point. Blue, red and green flew past him, followed by an extreme heat that left blisters on his arms and neck. He quickly dove behind the cover of a nearby corner. He pulled the pin on a frag grenade and tossed it around the corner at his pursuers as he slapped a fresh clip into his pistol. He fired a few shots at the group wounding 2 Grunts as the frag exploded sending smoke and shrapnel flying. As soon as he heard the whump of the grenade, he sprinted ahead. HE checked his eyepiece and saw that the extraction point was less than 40 meters around the next turn.
He threw down another grenade without looking at it and booked it around the bend. He turned to see 2 Pelicans touching down in front of him. He kept running as the bay doors opened up and a squad of Marines piled out, all carrying Ma5C assault rifles. As the Lieutenant passed them on his way up the ramp, the took positions around the area behind Covenant storage crates. The ell tee grabbed a BR55 from the weapons locker and slammed a new clip into it pulling back the charging handle. As this all went on a soft explosion was heard behind the corner he came from.
Smoke billowed from the spot as the silhouettes of Covenant soldiers walked through confused. It seems Doulass threw down a smoke grenade by mistake. The first Elite popped through, confused. With a rhythmatic symphony of gunfire, all Marines let of a burst of 6 shots. The confused Elites shields collapsed under the first of the volley. Within moments its body gushed blood as round after round pierced its flesh. Before the body hit the ground the Covenant ranks broke. Grunts were mowed down as they fled, leaving a lone Jackal to take care of the humans. But before she could pull up her shield a three round burst rung out followed by her head exploding.
Before anyone could comment, Douglass shouldered the rifle, waving his hand toward the pelican, shouting. "We don't have much time to extract! The Spartan set the charges, it's gonna blow!" With the the marines piled back in as quickly as possible. As the last marine entered the Pelican lifted off the ground. The ramp had started to close as they gained altitude. The pilot then keyed in the freq for the UNSC heavy cruiser Bahamut. "This is Pelican 213 reporting in. Recovered one survivor of Operation Troy. Spartan MIA, Repeat Spartan MIA." Douglass laid back and closed his eye, falling asleep almost immediately.
Onboard the Bahamut, Captain Nicholas Setia, or Cid as he was known, looked out of the bridges observation window down at the Covenant shipyard. A sudden flash appeared at the heart of the station, quickly spreading as soon as it had appeared. The explosion engulfed the tiny station and kept growing. As the blast wave hit the edge of the planet below, the ship lurched and sped away from the site.
The Captain smiled and sat down in the captains chair as the shipboard AI, Belgemine, appeared on the small holo pad beside him. Garbed in clothes from the Renaissance, her figure was emerald green and she spoke in a high English accent. "ONI has given us orders to retrieve the memory index recovered from Spartan L13. The Lieutenant that survived pulled it from his helmet before he escaped. He is in the docking bay now." The Captain cocked his eyebrow in curiosity. What would ONI be interested in this single Spartans memory? He turned to the AI and. "Belgemine, can you tell me why they want this Index?" The AI rolled her eyes and turned a cool neon. "Spartan L13 was one of 2000 colonists chosen for an experimental implant that connected to the brain, saving every moment seen or heard through the eyes of the person. It's only by chance that he was also chosen to become a Spartan." She said informatively, rather pleased with herself. "Well then," The Captain said with a smirk, "Send Lieutenant Douglass up here."

- Title: Fox, Chapter one
- Artist: Mr.Deth0
- Description: Basically a short Halo themed story about a Spartan II nicknamed the "Fox". This character is based loosely off of me. The first chapter is the one shown. This IS the first chapter, not the last. I have posted this on two other sites and really have no feedback at all, so I might not continue this story unless I do.

- Sorry if I make you angry, but please do not take my advice the wrong way. Don't let it get in the way of you writing other stories. No author is completely perfect. Still, I'll give you five stars for having a halo story.

Also, try making a new paragraph when people are talking. Example- "Sir, can you give me some water?" the marine asked.
"Sure," the Lieutenant replied to the thirsty marine.
Write this, instead of something like
"Can I have some water, sir?" the marine asked. "Sure," the Lieutenant replied to the thirsty marine. - Report As Spam

- This is a really awesome story. Though their is two things you could improve to make your writing better. 1. You should spell out the number. Example- With a rhythmatic symphony of gunfire, all Marines let of a burst of 6 shots. Try "six" instead of "6".
