• Lost Of Leberai

Part VII: A Glimpse of Cruelty

Ignoring her wounds, Rakashael stands next to him; the leader of Leberai. Bravely they face the remaining demons. Together and in sync they both summon colossal boulders and waves of wind. As if it were some kind of dance, Amoranth and Rakashael use the stone to crush the demonic horde. Monolith, Finsath, Morigir, Centaremon, and the malevolent roots are all flattened by their graceful, yet strong movements. Amoranth and Rakashael breathe deep. The Wall is only slightly repaired; this new one won't hold long. Meanwhile, back at that shrine, Hiroshi Ayame, only 12, skillfully takes out two chanters before he is apprehended. Viciously he squirms with every last ounce of energy. He manages to knock out some of the summoners with a little ability he has. Though he is not very strong, Hiroshi is very swift. Unfortunately not swift enough for this many people. Soon, he can take no more pain. Thus, his eyes fall dim. Rakashael and Amoranth walk back to the Latoropai Well. On their way they see a young boy with reddish hair and dark green eyes. He can't be any older than 12.

Panicking, the young boy scrambles around, "Miyako mo Akito ga doko ni iruka arimasu ka?! Boku ga... doko ni iruka arimasu ka?"(Where is Miyako and Akito?! Where am I?) He yells at the air.

Rakashael and Amoranth know that he can't see them, but it seems he can feel them.

"Atonitsuiteimasu o kudasai."(Please follow me) Rakashael gently says to the boy.

"Nani ga okorimashita ka?"(What happened?) Shakily he asks her.

    "Shindiemasu."(You're dead.)

Swiftly the young man freezes. "Ie, shine koto ga dekimasen! Boku no imoto mo ototo ha; dare, dare ka no mendo wa mimasu ka?!" (No, I can't be dead! Who will take care of them?)

Silently Rakashael walks to the gate, closes the East wall and opens the North.

"Haimasu."(Go in.) Rakashael beckons the child into the car.
"Ikimasu."(Go.) She quietly says to him as he steps into the car.

"O-namae ha nan desu ka?" Curiously the child asks.

Swiftly the door closes and the boy is sent on his way to the Heavens. There, he will join his mother. Lowering her head, Rakashael turns to Amoranth.

    "Thank you." She whispers.

He does not respond. Slowly she turns to close the North gate. She then presses the green button on the West wall. Slithering down, the shimmering golden rope flow to them.

"You first Lord Amoranth." Rakashael offers, ignoring her should-be fatal injuries.

Without a word, Amoranth grabs Rakashael and pulls her into him. Gently he tugs the rope and they are soon being pulled up. Completely shocked, Rakashael falls into a trance-like state. All this time Amoranth seems nothing but a wisp of shadows. Being this close to him, she can feel his form. He was indeed something more than a shade. She can feel every muscle, every scar; his pain... runs as deep as an ocean. Instead of cold, Amoranth is actually warm and his scent is intoxicating. Before Rakashael can grasp this concept; dim light floods their eyes and Amoranth coldly tosses her onto the dirt. In this moment, Rakashael's adrenaline rush fades and the severity of her wounds comes crashing down upon her. Great agony invades her body as she rolls onto her back. Despite of such immense pain; Rakashael doesn't scream or cry. A pool of blood forms around her, from her. Carelessly, Amoranth strides past her. Hallendria, the one who pulled them up, rushes to Rakashael's side. Horrible burns, deep gashes, and great bruises cover Rakashael's body. Swiftly black water envelopes her. As if she were floating in some kind of... emotion, and great peace; Rakashael revels and lets the dark water consume her. Suddenly, she is thrown onto the ground once more. When the water goes to its unknown origin, Rakashael's injuries go with it. In wonder, Rakashael looks at Hallendria, who is just as confused.

    "T'wasn't I." Her superior whispers.

Just then, they both look up to see Amoranth staring down the path at them. Quickly he turns and walks away. Steadily Rakashael rises and curiously watches him leave. Narrowing her eyes, Rakashael walks toward the center of Leberai. Mildly her body shivers, this is something she is unfamiliar with. Her heart races, her face feels warm, and she feels slightly queasy. All of her thoughts seems to focus around Amoranth's actions. Suddenly from her thoughts she is pulled. Before her, a tree where Guilderek hangs. He is alive, but barely.

Swiftly Rakashael strides to Guilderek and cuts him down. "Are you alright Guilderek?"

Profusely Guilderek trembles and growls at Rakashael.

"What did this? Were you attacked by a d-"

"I tied him up there for a reason." From behind them Amoranth states.

Standing, Rakashael gazes at Amoranth, who walks toward them. "What did you tie him up for?"

Kneeling to Guilderek's level, Amoranth grabs him by the throat.

"Why don't you tell her, Guilderek?" Intensely Amoranth growls. For a brief moment Guilderek refuses.

Amoranth repositions his grip to a wound on Guilderek's shoulder,"Gah! BECAUSE I AM THE REASON THE WALL IS BROKEN! P-PLEASE! Master Amo-",

"That isn't all! Now, as I was walking away with Kukunochi-sama; YOU said something to Rakashael! What Was It!?" Demands Amoranth.

Instantly Rakashael averts her eyes and begins walking away, "Release Guilderek Lord Amoranth. He doesn't know any better."

Both Guilderek and Amoranth freeze. With an extremely malevolent gaze; Amoranth turns back to Guilderek,

    "What Did You Say?!",

"Ahh! Nnnn. I said she was weak! Rakashael You're Pathe- AHHH!!!"

Immediately as Amoranth digs his hand into Guilderek's wound; Rakashael pulls Amoranth's arm back.

"Enough of this. Guilderek, you are forgiven." Very softly Rakashael's says.

Slowly Amoranth releases Guilderek; him and Guilderek stare at Rakshael as she walks away. Both seem surprised at her reaction. Silently and thoughtfully Rakashael takes her post at the Northern Cliff; the place she also goes to think. Meanwhile, Amoranth once more, for good measure shoves Guilderek into the tree.

"If you honestly are stupid enough to think she is weak; you perhaps are the weakest of us all." Amoranth spits at Guilderek and walks away.
