• "Hey! What are you doing?!" I glared at my best friend. She was marking up my drawing of an anime girl with cute wings. She had drawn devil horns. A devil's tail swished out from under my drawings skirt and her eyebrows pulled together into a frown. "What the heck? You destroyed it!"
"I was only having a bit of fun. It's not very good anyway. It looks like a frog."
From her voice, she was teasing, but from her words I felt hate starting to bubble inside of me. As quick as a flash, I grabbed her prized piece of work, the one she had just finished after a week and a half working on it. I had my pen in hand, scribbling a quick mustouche and beard on it. Ear hairs, tears, and a long crooked nose all appeared underneath my fevered hand. All the pain of jabs...
As soon as I was done, I ran out of her house, ignoring her cries of unhappiness. A small voice inside my head whispered, 'She only did it in pencil though. Only...'
But the rest of me couldn't hear it. My feet flew until I reached my house 5 blocks down. Slamming my room's door shut, I slid to the ground and lay there. I closed my tired eyes.
    No...
All the pain I had ever experienced rolled into me...
Teases...Nervousness...Jabs...Headaches...Lonelyness...Needles...Crashes...Scrapes...Being last...Cuts...Falls...Heartaches...The last note of a song...The ending of love...Tears...The pain of lying here, on the cold hardwood floor...
At first I felt as if I were sinking into icy cold water. An ocean of my tears. Then anger, hate, fire rushed through me. Melting everything. I opened my mouth to scream, then snapped it shut. No one must know! No one must run into here, seeking to help me! I wanted to be stopped, but I didn't. So the burning hatred and rage made me burst into flame inside.
Every bit of me melted, turned to ash.
The molteness cooled into something harder. Something that could never be melted.
I opened my eyes. I knew I was stronger. My outside might be warm as a summer's day. But to keep my self from getting hurt ever again, I knew something had changed within me.
My heart had been turned to ice.
