• Lazily, Rae moved her finger in circles just above the water. It swirled, even though she didn't touch it. She lifted her hand up, and the water became and upside down funnel wich followed her finger in snake-like movements. She brought it over to her other side, switching hands. It flowed in to ocean next to her. She was sitting in a little cave like place. There was a ledge overhanging it, high up. Water flowed in with the current. She was in a beach lounging chair, enoying her privacy.

It was still sunny, which Anastasia was thankful for. She never knew when it would happen, which night it would be. And being in a crowded place during that... it wouldn't be a good idea. She sat in the water, thin legs stretched out into the warm, salty liquid. She wasn't the strongest swimmer; she never had really been taught how. She played with the golden sand absentmindedly. And she didn't really know what would happen if she suffocated and drown while in this state. The sand was warm agaisnt her forever cold skin. Rough and warm. She liked it. Waves lapped up against her as she sat, relaxed. Sure, she was surrounded by people, but she took no true notice of them, as they did to her. She never stood out, and that's how she liked it.

Rae stood up. Her short black hair was stuck to her face. She smiled as she walked towards the entrance to her cave. From the outside, there was a sudden deep spot right before the entrance. It kept people out. They always believed it would be deep the rest of the way in. She chuckled quietly as she dived into the depths of the water. She could swim forever, litterally. She could breath underwater and the water gave her strength. She still came up to appear normal, though. She swam towards the beach. Easily she moved through the water and onto the beach, passing a girl sitting in the water.

She just sat there, humming lightly to herself. She played with her long, black hair now, braiding a few strands together. But she suddenly stopped as a girl came out of the water, moving past her. But that wasn't the reason she stopped. She let out a small gasp. A ripping feeling, near her shoulder and ending on her rib cage. She reached a hand warily back, and touched lightly. Heavily wincing, she stared at her finger tips. They were stained crimson. She may be dead, but she could still bleed. She looked around frantically for the sun, which was near setting. She hadn't realized... "Damnit..." The word had an accent to it, as if she came from another time. She tried to wrap her towel around her shoulders so no one could see. But her hands were shaking. She was nervous. As she always was at a time like this. When she was surrounded by others, and she was fading.

Rae paused more a moment. She peered backwards, towards the setting sun. Can it be this late already? She lowered her gaze. The girl had wrapped herself in a towel. Rae squinted at it. There was a red stain forming on it. She shook her head slowly. Maybe she got cut by a rock or something... She winced and turned away. She froze, peering around the beach. Everyone was turned away, leaving. There were only a few left now. She peered back at the girl, the stain larger. She sighed and walked back to her. She whispered, "Hey, are you alright? Your back.. It's bleeding."

Ana jumped a bit, not expecting someone to be talking to her all of a sudden. She pulled the towel harder on her skin, not really paying attention to the sharp pain, and lept to her feet. She then looked back at the girl and more or less grunted, "It does that sometimes." Her voice held that accent again, almost English. Still otherworldly in the sense that she came from another time. She noticed her skin was already starting to get a bit paler, and she refrained from cursing. She strode forward a few paces, but then sopped and looked back at the girl. "And to answer your query, yes, I am quite alright."

Rae stared at her. She noticed something wasn't exactly right about this girl. For one, her accent was a bit...old style. Her back was bleeding, and she was starting to pale. Water came up to her, wrapping around her ankles. It started to crawl up her legs, as it usually did to 'comfort' her. She instantly lifted her arm slightly, then slapped it back to her side. The water retreated. She hissed under ther breath.

She looked back at the sun, which was sinking lower in the sky. It cast the sky in a fiery glow. Good weather tomorrow? Perhaps. Anastasia wondered how much blood she had lost, how obvious it was that she was bleeding. Well, it seemed very obvious. Would everyone else notice? She looked around as she began to back up. It was a possibility. But everyone seemed wrapped in their own business... could she escape? She looked back at Rae, who was watching her. She didn't blush, but grew paler, the air around her colder. Did the cold air reach her? She didn't know, nor would stay long enough to find out. She took a few more steps, then bolted in a different direction as fast as her now human legs would carry her. She didn't want anyone to know what she was; who knew what would happen?
Rae was started by her sudden sprint, and the water splashed upward in surpise. She hissed again, then called after her, "Hey! Are you sure you're alright?" She then muttered, "Nice to meet you, too." She debated on following the girl. She could just leave and mind her own business, or she could follow just incase the girl was just stubborn and really was hurt. She sighed then followed her.

She could already feel the bleeding beginning to slow in her back. Her hearing had increased, and so had her eyesight. When she was like this, she noticed many more things than she could have before. For example, she noticed that the girl was now following her. She picked up on her pace, finding that she could now move faster, silently. She darted behind a few rocks and took off from there toward her home. It was an old place, not really within in the town's edges. And she was glad for that, oddly enough.

Rae soon had lost all direction of where the girl had gone. She sighed, "f**k it all..." She closed her eyes, and she felt a tug in her gut. She opened her eyes and smirked. There was an explosion. Not of fire, but of water. Where she once stood, was a puddle of salt water. She reappeared 50 or so yards ahead. She muttered under her breath. "Damn it... Didn't work!" It was supposed to bring her near the girl, using the water in her body to direct Rae. That had failed. She closed her eyes and sighed. She turned and headed back towards the ocean.

She heard the explosion, and stopped right in front of her door. She looked around, almost in a way that made the girl seem paranoid. But no, she wasn't. Curious, more like. She moved to open the door knob. She twisted on it, and it didn't move. She twisted again, and started pulling on the door. It wouldn't budge. I locked it? She remembered vaguely doing so. But then she cursed. The key, not on her, at the beach. She couldn't walk through doors. She tried though, once or twice in the past. And it really had not worked. She looked back from where she came. A cold wind blew harsh, and she knew it was her fault. Her presence caused it. Maybe the girl was gone, maybe she could go to the beach. But her gut nagged at her as she stood under the overhang on her porch, and she knew that wasn't the case.
