• I ran as fast as I could. The narrow hallway seemed endless. "s**t s**t s**t!" my breathing went faster. The air in my lungs felt heavy.
"you read my book!" his voice echoed through the walls "I told you, I told you not to read it!"
"I didn't read it! not a single word, not a single letter!" I shouted.
"you lie! you read it and now you must suffer the consequences!" his voice thundered. The ground started to rumble, the red brick colored paint on the walls began to peel, the old ceiling slowly crumbled.
I tripped and fell flat, face first. My right cheek got scrapped, leaving an opening for the blood to escape "dammit.." I looked forward and saw a wall. A dead end.
He laughed "did you really think you couldve escaped if you reached the end of the hallway?"
I turned myself over, searching the room quickly with my eyes "where are you...?" I muttered.
"what was that? I couldn't quite hear you" he chuckled.
I clenched my hands into fist "where the hell are you?!" I yelled "show yourself!"
    "hmph. No"
everything got more violent, the walls, the ceiling. The floor, it was disappearing far away but getting closer and closer by the second. My skin went sweaty, my heart throbbed. This cant be real. "stop" my voice grew weak "stop...please!"
    No reply.
I crawled backwards till my back touched the edge of the wall. "okay, okay!" I shouted "I did it. I read it, okay?! but there were only three words, three! 'welcome to Spinca' thats all. the rest of the pages were blank! Now stop all this! Let me live" at that moment everything stopped. No more rumbling or cracking. Even the floor stopped vanishing. It was all still and quiet as if time froze.
Then he laughed, an evil laugh that shook the very air. "I can't change what has already been done"
Thats when it started again, except different. Now everything was disappearing, quicker than before, leaving nothing behind but darkness. "you..." I said "you...!" hot tears ran down my cheeks, burning my cut.
He chuckled "a bit furious, arent we?" his voice lowered "it was your fault, after all"
Then everything went blank, pitch black. I couldnt move my body. It felt like an eternal sleep where I cant open my eyes, where I cant speak, where I cant hear nor feel anything.
    Complete emptiness.
"get up" a voice echoed in my mind.
I managed to opened my eyes to see nothing but the sky, trees, birds, and grass. A forest. I blinked, that eternal sleep was quicker than I thought. "the afterlife..." I whispered.
    "no, you imbecile!" he snapped.
I looked up and saw a young boy, about thirteen, just five years younger than me. "where am I?"
"do you not remember a thing? you are here because of your own actions" he eyed me "welcome to Spinca" he grinned.
My heart felt still. "no way...thats just a book! I-" then I remembered "you! your the one that sent me here! but why? How?!"
"im only going to say this once" he said, ignoring my question "you will fill the empty pages of my book by what you say and do here in it, but no matter what you do, no matter how hard you try, you will die the most suffering death at the end" he chuckled "have fun in this mythical world. Remember, anything can happen here"
He vanished without a trace. "a kid..." I mumbled as I stood up "all this caused by a mere kid" I looked around and found a dirt road "I aint gonna die, shrimp. I hope you have the most boringest story ever" as I walked away I heard a deep, cold laughter.

I woke up from the sound of the floor creeking. I rubbed my eyes and walked out of bed. It was dark in the house, I could tell because under my door was a crack that showed no light. I opened the door small enough to poke my head out. "Mama?" I whispered "Mama, are you there, mama?" I heard the floor creaking far away. A door opened, showing the snowstorm outside and in that doorway was a figure of a woman, her back facing me. "Mama!" I cried. She turned around as I ran towards her.
"Madeline, stop!" She shouted, quickly backing away from me "g-go back to sleep, its mi-midnight and your only s-six" her voice was quivering.
"Mama? Whats wrong, mama?" I reached my hand out to her.
She stared at my hand frightened as she stumbled backwards and fell in the snow. "I ha-have to go" she was sweating even though it was below freezing out. "now sleep, Madeline"
I looked back to my room "but mama, ive always wanted to show you my dolly" I turned back to face her but she was gone. I looked down at the pile of snow she fell on and saw messy footprints leading away as if she was frantically running. "Goodbye" I said as I closed the door. I walked back to my room, got on my knees and look under my bed. Nothing showed. "Shanaa" I whispered slolwy "shannaaaaa" a tiny red glow lit under my bed. I giggled "mama left. She looked like she was in a hurry" another red light glowed next to it. I frowned "Im sorry, you must be tired" the red glowing lights slowly faded. I crawled onto my bed and pulled my blanket up to my chin "goodnight, Shana" closed my eyes and fell asleep.

"Hey, wake up! Your gonna be late to your new school!" Mom yelled out from downstairs in the kitchen. I was already awake, I just layed in bed for thirty minutes, didn't want to get up, didn't want to move. I don't want to go to a new school...again.
"Hey, come on girl, up up" Mom stood by my bedroom door.
"...kay" I got up and went to the closet and grabbed my uniform. Mom smiled and then she left downstairs. I put on my skirt and my long sleeved shirt then went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth. I looked up in the mirror. I don't...no...not again. it's not going to happen again. I rinsed my mouth and went downstairs to the living room, where mom was sitting on the couch drinking a cup of milk. She looked up at me "Tsuki..." She said it so softly, like a whisper, like she was going to tell me something important. "I know" I said, not letting her continue what she was going to say. I went to the front door and turned the knob, but just as the door opened, I said "Mom, can you..walk with me..to school..?"
"Hello there, Tsuki!" Mom was outside in front of the house. "I came back home a bit late!"
"w..what?" I turned around to the couch. No one was there. I turned back to mom. "how did you..get there?"
"Eh? What do you mean by that, Tsuki?"
"Mom, you were..." I pointed to the couch "you were just sitting on the couch..drinking milk!" I looked up at mom. She looked really confused.
"Milk?" She laughed "You know i'm allergic to milk! A sip of that and my face goes red and puffy"
"oh.." That's right...she's allergic to milk. But when she drank it..she looked perfectly fine..
"Oh, don't be late for your new school. Sorry I wasn't here this morning to make you breakfast, I had to go food shopping" She lifted up two bags full of food, one on each hand, then she giggled "I'm surprised you got up on your own! You were always so lazy, despite your looks"
I felt a cold chill down my back. She said she wasn't here this morning, but she woke me up...she was here all morning, wasn't she?
"Umm are you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost!"
I stared at her, confused and scared.
"careful when you look up, Tsuki. You don't want it to-"
"Bye mom!" I ran past her and kept on going till I couldn't see her, then I walked. It was probably my imagination...seeing mom in the morning.. it wasn't real. I was just imagining things. yes...just imagining things.
