• I started to walk towards the voices. They got louder as I got closer. Dodging trees and bushes I finally made it to a town. Wide eyed I looked around. "Whoa." Many races were seen. Not just the normal human. Witches, fairies, nymphs, and more. I couldn't believe my eyes. "This can't be real," I breathed. Hiding behind a bush I didn't know what to really do. If a mermaid acted that way then what would these people say. Taking a deep breath I aproached what looked normal enough. He was tall and with an athletic body. I looked up at him. "Um..." I couldn't get past a whisper. "Can I help you the boy ask looking down on me. I blushed. "Um yes I need to get home and don't know how." He looked at her. "Well do you know the direction," he asked. "No I'm completely lost," I sighed. He was silent for a few moments. I was too. While the moments went by I picked out only one sound. One heart beat. It was mine. I looked up at him as he thought. "Immortal," I voiced under my breath. "What," he asked looking down at me. "Oh nothing," I blushed. "Any ideas?" He shook his head. "Sorry I got nothing." Sighing I start to walk away. "Thanks anyway," I yelled back to him. He watched as I walked away. "Wait." He ran back to me. "If you don't have somewhere to stay you can stay with us." Looking up at him I'm speechless. "Oh I couldn't stay. I have to get home and... What do you mean by us?" He smiled. "I have a brother and a gardian. I'm only 15." I looked up at him in amazement. I knew he was older than that for he was immortal but I didn't ask. "I see. Well then you won't have enough room for me," I said trying to get out of this mess. He grabbed my wrist. "There's plenty of room," he said smiling at me. "But I-I..." He put his finger to my lips. "You will stay until we find your place okay, he said slowly. I nodded and his finger went away. Sighing I looked up at him. "So where is your place?" He looked down at me. "Not too far from here. I'd say about 5 miles." I stopped. "Wait I'll die if I walk 5 miles," I explained. He laughed. "You'll be fine because we're not walking." I looked at him confused. He opened a portal. "After you," he smiled motioning towards the portal. I looked at it. "You act like you've never seen a portal before," he said laughing some. "Oh I'v seen them before." I couldn't blow my cover so I walked through. He came in on my tail. Stepping through I tripped and started falling. He caught me before I fell. "You okay?" I looked up at him blushing deeply. "Um yes. Thanks." He looked at me strangely. "No problem. Dad I'm home," he yelled and began to walk away. I looked at the huge home taking in all the details and art work. "These peolpe are rich," I said making sure no one heard. She noticed the boy walking away. "Hey wait!" Running after him I caught up. We walked in silence for some time. I couldn't take it anymore. "So I didn't catch your name before. I'm Sophia." He looked down. "Seth." I nodded. I looked around at all the beautiful things. It was amazing. Not paying attention I tripped. He couldn't help but laugh. "Why are you laughing at me," I asked still on the floor. "Your pretty clumzy," he said brining me up with one arm. Once set on my feet I froze. He kept walking down the hall. "He lifted me with one arm just like the guy at school." I started running after him again. "Wait! This could be my chance to figure out the guys at school," I said under my breath. "I can't mess this up."
