• As Boa knocked the door, the window on the left side opened. Everyone started groaning at the sweet smell of her cooking.
"hey guys! I didnt know you were going to come here" Rogers mom said "good thing, though, because I made a extra food" she laughed but then stopped as she noticed our drenched clothe. "what did you guys do?!"
"mmm..." Roger mumbled "I fell down a hill and rolled into a lake"
"I jumped into the lake" Boa said.
"me too!" Jen and Trek said cheerfully.
"as of I..." Kert said numbly.
"oh you guys..." She looked at me "and why are you wet, hun?"
"I..I..fell down the hill with..Roger and then rolled.. into lake"
"oh dear oh dear..." she put her hand on her forehead and closed her eyes. She didnt say anything after that, she just shooed us away then closed the window.
    "what now?" Jen asked.
They looked at each other and shrugged. Trek walked up to the door, opened it, then went inside. The rest followed and I was the last to go in.
"haven't been here in a long time" Kert said quietly.
I walked around, examining his house. The floor was super smooth and really slippery, I almost fell a couple times.
"what are you guys doing inside!? get out, out! Oh the floor...now I have to wipe it up.." she looked up "what are you guys waiting for? shoo shoo!"
"goodbye!" they all shouted as they ran out of the house.
"okay..Roger, go put on some new, dry clothe"
"kay" Roger walked upstairs to his room..
"oh, and bring one of your smallest clothe down for Anysa!" she shouted out. "oy oy...kids." she clapped her hand really loud. "time to clean up this floor!"
I gave my dress another squeeze, letting out some of the water, then left the kitchen to look around the house. His mom didnt notice me leaving, she was too busy cleaning up the floor so she could set the table and bring the food out. I walked into a hallway, it was full of pictures. There was a closed door to the side, when I looked in there was a big bed with white puffy pillows and a green blanket. I shut the door and continued walking. I ended up at a big room and up ahead was a tall, mahogany clock. It looked old and seemed to be broken because the time wasn't right and it didnt tick. I stared at the gold hand and numbers. Inside the glass was a small entryway but I couldnt see what was inside because it was closed, plus it was too high up. As I stared at the ancient clock, I spotted a little dot in the very tip of the minute hand. It was really small, so I squinted my eyes. It was a tiny, red shape and it looked very familiar, like Ive seen it before. A small spot in my arm started throbbing.
"go sit down, the foods ready"
I turned around and saw his mom walking up to me holding some clothe as Roger headed for the table in the kitchen. She looked amused.
"get over here, hun" she lead me to the room I opened not to long ago and urged me in. She gave me the clothes she was holding, told me to hurry and put them on, then she shut the door.
"..kay.." I said to myself as I separated the things on the bed. There was a red shirt with a hood and then another shirt that was longer but purple. I scratched my head. Why would she give me two shirts? Maybe im suppose to wear them both. I took off my wet dress and put the purple shirt on first, then the red one. The red shirt made the bottom of the purple one flow out a little, like a dress. I opened the door and walked out to the table.
"awww cute! It fits perfectly on you! Adorable, simply adorable" His mom smiled as I sat next to Roger who was eating a chicken leg. "you guys look so cute together!"
Roger nearly choked on his food when she said that. "mom, really!" he glared at her.
She laughed. "hey, you know its true! I bet you have a crush on her, huh?"
Roger groaned as he took another bite of his food, ignoring her.
"oh, I completely forgot! How old are you, hun?" she asked me.
"eight" I said quietly, almost a whisper.
"two years younger than ol Roger, I see" she took a fork and ripped a piece of meat off the chicken.
It was silent for a really, really long time as we ate.
    "Usoda" his mom said.
    "what..?" I was confused.
She pointed at my arm and said it again. "that...that symbol on your arm.. it means usoda, fate"
I stared at the little red dot on my arm, shocked. Not too long ago, it was just almost diamond shaped but now it looks different, like a long, skinny, curved sun with an x in the center.
"I haven't seen anyone wear the mark, not ever. But you..you..tell me, what do you know of it?"
I stared at her, not knowing what to say. I didnt even know what she was talking about. I thought this was just a bug bite when I first got it..
"you dont know?" she asked, surprised.
    I shook my head no.
"oh let me tell you something about it then. Usoda, that was the name of a prince long, long ago. He was a real handsome boy at the age of eight-teen, with his long silky black hair as dark as midnight, and beautiful blue eyes that glowed like the moon. He was very mature, kind, and brave. Everyone from everywhere knew his name and he was highly respected. At that time it was very peaceful, no wars or gangs, not one person had a fowl mouth. One day the prince fell in love with this beautiful girl with shimmering snow-like hair. He started thinking about her everyday and he gave her gifts, so many gifts, but she refused them all, and she refused him. That made Usoda like her even more, the way she speaks her mind. He decided to stop buying her things and started seeing her. They were with each other everyday of every second. Then he proposed to her, and they were engaged. At their wedding, everything went horribly wrong. The castle went on fire and everyone was dieing in the flames. The attackers wore long black capes and had on helmets that shadowed their faces but showed their yellow, glowing eyes. They rode on jet black horses with manes that seemed to flame. Once the fire died down, his kingdom was in ruins and his people, all dead, but worst of all, his love died. He cried all night full of grief and sorrow, but then that sadness changed into hatred. One night when the moon was red, he rode away on his crimson horse as he wore a dark cloak with a hood that covered his face. He swore to kill everyone that attacked his kingdom"
"what does that have to do with the symbol?" Roger interrupted.
"that symbol was on the blade of his sword, and it represents high power. Usoda...fate" she stared at my arm. "that symbol is only worn on the skin of royalty...why do you have it on your arm?"
At that moment, the red symbol started to burn, then the pain started to spread throughout my body. I screamed as I squeezed my arm.
"Anysa!" Roger knelt down to me as I fell off the chair.
It feels like my insides are on fire..slowly, slowly burning. Its so hot..it hurts so much. I closed my eyes tight and clenched my teeth. Its almost like being skinned alive. My heart was loud and it was beating fast, too fast, and it seemed like it was tearing apart as it rubbed against my rib. Breathing pained me even more. Every breath was like suicide, the air was poisonous needles to my lungs. I could taste blood in my mouth. Everything started to look fuzzy. I could hear barely Rogers voice yelling out my name, it sounded faint, like I was in a sound proof glass. My body went numb and I couldnt feel anything anymore...except for the soft, deep beating of the red symbol on my arm.
