• The girl stood at the window, looking out. She could see no stars behind the smog. No moon peeped out behind the darkness. She saw nothing in the heavens. It was empty and souless. She shivered, and turned away.
She touched different things in the room, trying to remember. She knew it was a bedroom. Her bedroom. But she couldn't remember what she had done here.
Had she died? Had she cried? Had she tried for the last time.
The girl searched her soul, but there was nothing. It was reminiscent of the cold sky above.
A tear fell onto the hardwood floor. She regarded it with suprise. She did not remember the last time she had cried. But then, she didn't remember anything.
She pulled her denim jacket closer. THe girl felt so cold. Like she was drowning. Drowning in ice.
Her sparkly green nails tapped the glass table. Tap. Tap. Tapitty tap tap. She didn't remember but she did that single pattern.
The clear lipgloss on her lips shined slightly in the soft light as she smiled. A little bit of a memory. It was coming back.
She walked to the mirror. Time to see who I really am. she thought. Then she stpped in her tracks. I can think. Really think! I'm coming back! Finally!
Her walking resumed, this time with a bounce in her step. She stood in front of the full length mirror.
A tall teenage girl with short brown hair and green eyes stared back at her. She wore a denim jacket, green shirt and holey skinny jeans. Her black tennis shoes showed many signs of wear. A necklace with a black cat pendant hung at her neck.
She remembered everything as the sun shone on her broken face.
