• Chapter 1.

I had just left the dark school grounds. Me and a few of my friends had been hanging around. We just had gotten shooed off by the janitor so we were headed to the park. That is when it all happened so fast, that my head spun and wouldn't stop. The car, the blood, the body. My friend. She lay sprawled out on the ground, Her face twisted in horror. The car stopped and a man ran out. He was shaking. I was shaking too. All of my friends gathered around her, cutting her from my view. Blood trickled down the road. The man had ran to the nearest pay phone and the street was filled with sirens. My life was about to change.

    Chapter 2.

Josh, the man, sat in the ambulance with Sarah, the girl who got hit. Sarah mumbled and opened her eyes "Lizzy? Derek? Drake?" She whispered. Josh looked down at her. He was still shakey. He had just hit this girl and now he was in the ambulance with her. He forced a smile "I'm guessing those are your friends. They aren't here. They couldn't come in the ambulance. They are driving up to see you they said.... I hope I didn't hurt you too bad...." Sarah blinked. She couldn't remember what happened. Sarah turned her head and looked at the man. Who was he? Why was he talking about an ambulance. Why did it feel like she was in a car? Was she on a hospital like bed? So many questions buzzed through her mind. What was going on? Sarah shut her eyes. She heard mumbles from the man. Sarah kept her eyes shut "I'm Sarah... Mind telling me what happened?" She half hissed out her words as pain shot through her body. Mostly in her ribs. Josh gave a sigh "I hit you... You were on the road and I didn't see you till the last minute... I had no time to stop...." Silence passed between the two of them. The only sound that filled their ears was the sound of the car and the steady beeps of Sarah's heart.

    Chapter 3.

I sat in the waiting room with Derek and Drake. They could tell I was shaken by what had happened. I began pacing back and forth. Drake eventually stood and held me in his arms. I burst into tears, drenching his favorite jacket. I heard Drake's soft, gentle, masculin voice in my ears. His hands clenching my hair gently "It will be okay Lizzy" He cooed into my ear. I couldn't stop crying. I could feel everyones eyes on us. I could just imagine their faces. I stopped weeping as I felt hands on my thighs and then I was lifted. I pulled my head from Drakes shoulder. I felt the night air envelope me. Drake had picked me up and carried me outside. Drake seated himself on a bench outside. He held me tight before setting me beside him. He pulled off his jacket and set it around my shoulders. My teeth had started to chatter. I looked him up and down "You should take your Jacket back... You could get sick." Drake just chuckled "I'm more worried about you Lizzy...." I blinked. I leaned against him and shut my eyes as more tears spilled over my face.

I heard the doors open and feet shuffling towards me and Drake "Ok love doves... Lets go.... We can see Sarah now...." My eyes popped open at Dereks voice. Drake had a huge grin pasted to his face "Come on" He said getting up. I got to my feet and stumbled towards the doors. Drake caught me as I tripped over my own feet. Derek just chuckled and scooped me up. I spotted Drake about too. Derek looked back at Drake "I'm not letting you get your hands on her. You might get into a gushy fit again..." He said calmly. We all got to Sarah's room. She was hooked up to a lot of different machines. Derek put me down in a chair in the room and claimed the over one, forcing Drake to stand.

We all sat in silence for a while listening to the beeping of Sarah's heart. I blinked as I heard mumbles from her. Sarah turned her head slowly and opened her eyes to look at us. She smiled a bit "H-hey...." We all smiled back at her "Hey there Sarah" I said. Sarah shut her eyes again "Oww..." I blinked "Sarah are you okay?" I asked worriedly. Sarah let out a chuckle "Yeah, I just get pain once and a while...." Me, Derek, and Drake all stayed with her until visiting hours ended.
