• After a few minutes of the parents looking back to each other and then to January and Ethan, who were pretending to be struck by love at first sight, Ethan and Januarys parents murmured something and then January's parents told her that it was time to go. January left with her parents and nothing else in the house moved. Mr.Tale, broke the silence again.
"so did you like this one?" He asked.
"could'nt of been a worse posibility." Ethan said non-chalantly. His parents where as flabbergasted as they where when Ethan came home from a third grade day and proved that 'Flabbergasted' was a word.
"Why don't you like him?" Said Januarys parents?
"not my type." Ethan and January said unknowingly simeoultaneously.
"when are you going to pick someone?"
"when are you going to stop assinging people to me like homework assinments?"
"we just want you to be happy like we were."
"maybe being happy means that i can pick my own boyfriend." The car was silent. When the car slowly stopped in the driveway, January stormed out of it and went up to the attic, which was her room. The room was unpainted, and a wood brown, a white bed, two extra rooms, one bath and one storage, with the exception of a lovely red flatscreen TV and couch. SHe jumped on her bed, which had a drawer next to it, and pulled out her mp3. She jammed out for hours until the battery died. The attic had a eye shaped window in the middle. She got up and looked outside it. It had a magnificent view of the rest of the neighbor hood, and a huge tree that she could climb down to get out of the house if she needed, and then go back up. A knock on the attic hatch frieghtened her almost to death and then she said a little too loudly
"come in!" The hatch opened and revealed Mary, her best friend.
    "Scare ya?" she asked.
    "not at all." January lied.
    "heard you had another 'arrangement'"
"It almost every week with them."
    "who was it?"
"go get the yearbook." Mary hurried and grabbed the yearbook from under the bed, where it always was becuase Mary asked about the arrangements often. January filed through freshman year, for this was last years, the way a librarian often would.
"This is the guy." She finnally said.
    "Ethan Tale, he is hot."
"Yeah i guess. Just not my type."
"I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you don't like him because you're parents arranged him."
"Well they haven't been so good have they?"
"So maybe you should try him out."
"not on you're life, we've already agreed on it." Mary rolled her eyes.
