• “Okay, so tell me one more time, how did you get here Max?” I said glaring at Star Fire
“Well…I heard some one yelling so I decided to look outside. That’s when I saw Star Fire. She had a note taped to her saddle bag that said that you returned to the desert. But….You didn’t.” “Why”? Asked Max “Why did you lie to me? Was it because...” he paused and looked at me then stared at Link as if talking to him instead of me. “Was it because….. You don’t love me anymore?” he said quietly, as if he was scared to say the words.
“Okay first of all.” I said “I DID NOT put a note on Star’s saddle bag and second of all how could you even say that I don’t love you!” I yelled in anger. “If only you knew how much you mean to me.” I whispered ever so quietly, I almost started to sob, but then remembered that
I couldn’t. So instead I walked over to my favorite oak tree in the sacred grove, dropped to my knees and leaned my head against the bark. Link started to make his way over to me from his spot by Epona, but Max held him back.
“Leave her be, she just wants to be alone right now.” Said Max
“Why would you think that?” asked Link, as he tried to get to me again but Max again held him back
“Because I’ve known her ever since she was little, unlike somebody.” said Max, giving Link a matter-of-fact look. But Link pass by him to get to me anyway.
“Ugh I can’t take much more of your boyfriend.” Link whispered to me as he sat down at my side.
“He’s not my boyfriend.” I said through clenched teeth
“Uh huh.” Said Link, sounding unconvinced
“Ugh look, I didn’t come over here to be bugged by you.” I said
“Listen, I’m sorry okay? It’s just he’s really starting to get on my nerves.” Said Link, stroking a stray hair from my face, “Where’s the clip Max got you?” he grumbled as he took out his sword and laid it down beside him in the grass. I stroked the sacred blade.
“In my saddle bag, so I won’t get it dirty” I said
“Huh, what’s this?” said Link taking my hand in his and turning it over so the Triforce showed.
“An emblem showing that the goddesses have housed one of their powers inside me.” I said, as Link caressed the Triforce on my hand. “Just like you.” I said laying my finger on the Triforce that was instigated on the back of his hand.
“Hold still, your sword is about to poke you in the back.” Said Link, as he removed my sword.
“Wow, you’ really are a hero!” I teased
“Yeah, I guess so.” He whispered back sadly
“What’s wrong?” I asked, as I stared into his clouded over bright blue eyes.
“It’s just that….well. For starters, I have no idea what I’m going to do about Ganon...and. I guess that I’m a little mad at Max because, he thinks he can tell me what to do.” He grumbled
“Okay, first of all there’s not just you going to be taking Ganon, I’m going to be there with you, and second, don’t worry about Max…He just gets a little pushy sometimes.” I said, leaning my head on Link’s shoulder. But Link moved and took my head in his hands.
“C, you mean that you’ll fight Ganon with me?” he asked, as his face brightened
“I’ll be with you all the way.” I said
“Thank you, I knew I could count on you!” he whispered. He leaned over and kissed me on the forehead. I let out a loud gasp of surprise. Max spun around and stared at us. I saw him reach into his pocket and pull out a knife. But then I tore my gaze from Max and stared at Holmberg, the little jelm monster was sitting on a branch a couple yards above Link and I.
“Princess, consider myself paid.” Said Holmberg. Suddenly I pulled back in pain as a poison knife made contact with my back. “Princess!!” yelled Holmberg. The adorable little monster started howling until a great winged cat flew toward Him and I. The great winged cat, also known as Sphinx, scooped Holmberg and I up in one of it’s giant paws and flew up into the deep blue night sky, leaving Max and Link yelling after it.
