• Day One:
As we all huddled in the small bunker you could hear the heart rattling sound of the bombs rain down upon us as an April rain. We were running low on food supplies and clean drinking water. It was nearly 8 hours when there was a break in the heavy shelling from the American's Flakk 88 guns. We got a chance to check out all the damage caused buy the massive guns. Two whole blocks leveled. It was unbelievable.

    Day Two:
We received word that American forces were with drawling from our town, Berlin. Hitler made an announcement that there was an attempt to assassinate him and it had failed. We sighed in relief. Many people did not like Hitler. He was a very cruel man. He would set up concentration camps and make people of the Jewish religion work in harsh conditions. When they were deemed worthless he would gas them in a gas chamber. Terrible man.

    Two Months Later.
It was nearing the end of the war Hitler had killed himself in a bunker with his wife. Suicide was a terrible thing to speak of from that day on. Many had died, Germany had sufferd a terrible loss of good men. My father was killed in action defending berlin. We moved to a farm house outside of Dresden. Where we could get away from the war and thoughts of my father.

To all the men and women who served in the us military that war - God Bless
