• I walked home from my friend Haley's house across the golf course. When I walked up the first long, steep hill to get there, my foot hit a rock and it was cut. I ignored it because it didn't hurt and walked on. When I finished the first hill I was exteremly tired and didn't want to climb up my driveway. I was breathing hard and I saw something laying in my ditch. I gasped as I walked over to it....or rather her. It was Sophia. I started running down the street as fast as I could, getting winded, but not stopping for the love of my friend and her dog. My foot pained me as I ran, but I ignored it as before for I had to get to her house to tell her what had happened. I ran through the grass Ignoring her other dogs, but still feeling guilty about doing so. I ran to the door and put my hands over my head after I had rang the doorbell. I dropped my hands when she opened the door, "Hey Carson," she said. When I was too out of breath to say anything she asked, "What's wrong?" When I caught enough breath to say, "It's Sophia, I think she's had another-" but she ran past me before I could say any more. Although, she did yell back, "Tell my mom! Have her call the vet!" I nodded to this and walked inside, carefull not to take my shoes off. "Hello?" I asked. Her mother strode out in front of me and said, "Oh hello Carson, wh-what's going on?" she asked hesitantly. I put my hands on my knees and said, "Cassidy went-Sophia she-" I panted. She grabbed my back gently to leave me inside. "No! I can't-but that's not the point. Sophia had another seizure and she went to go get her." I breathed. "Excuse me," I mouthed. Apparently she knew what to do because I heard the phone dialing. I walked out onto their porche and sighed when I saw Cassidy leading Sophia gently down the street, coaxing her back to their house. All of a sudden a car came towards Sophia and I saw Cassidy push her out of the way. "CASSIDY!" I screamed. I limped over to her as her mom ran to the door, still on the phone. When I got there I kneeled over and picked her up, holding onto Sophia's collar as well. "It's okay girl," I cooed to her. "I promise, it's okay." I whispered. Her mom mouthed to me to put her in the car and she took Sophia's collar from me. I was able to steady Cassidy to lay her in the car. "-take her to the vet and tell them what happened." her mom finished. She thanked me quietly and I nodded, waving goodbye to them as she drove to the ER.
