• "It's definitely been a while, hasn't it, sister?" The question rolled off the white haired girls tongue like velvet as she turned to her other half, who lay beside her in the grass. The black haired girl chuckled, opening her good eye and looking at her black eyed sister through her brilliant silver orb.
"It definitely has..." Her voice stated softly as she opened her other eyes, staring out into the cloudless sky through the canopy of leaves above her. The wind blew gently, caressing the two girls' skin and carrying away a few dead leaves.
Pushing herself upright, the black girl brushed her hair behind her ear and looked out to the west. Although she couldn't see it, she knew that was where the town of Barton laid. She closed her eyes as another gust of wind closed in on her and her sister.
"I wonder how much it's changed." She said serenely, slowly letting herself fall back into the soft grass.
"Me too." The white girl murmured before drifting away into the land of dreams, soon followed by her twin.

    ---

It was only dawn when the two girls woke from their slumber. The black haired girl, Umagi Kasumi, was first to awaken, being more sensitive and uncomfortable with the light. Gently, she shook her white haired twin, Motou Misaki, pulling her from the depths of sleep.
"It's time to go back, sister." She stated wearily, staring out at the rising sun. Misaki broke out into a grin.
"Really, sister, is it really?" She asked anxiously. Turning to her with a small smile, Kasumi nodded an answer. In her excitement, Misaki quickly ran to their tree house home in the heart of the forest at impossibly fast speeds, leaving Kasumi to stare out after her. A soft chuckle escaped Kasumi's lips as she turned her eyes to the ever brightening sky.
She stood and silently made her way toward her home. the fallen leaves and grass barely rustling under her swift steps.
Her sharp, metallic silver eyes glinted slightly as she walked. She smiled slightly, hearing the faint sound of her sister's laughs in the distance.
"She's happy, " She said to herself lightly, "We're going to finally visit place where our most precious memories are held - our old home - again. But," - She paused in her steps for only a moment, her eyes flashing up to the rays of light streaming through the canopy above her before she began walking again -, "Do you remember us, Barton? Although I'm aware of our change, will you remember us? And take us back with open arms one last time? Before we have to leave forever?"
Her hand came up to grip something around her neck as she came to a complete stop. She stood before the clearing where her home laid. A large waterfall sat in the very middle, covering the surrounding area with a pleasantly cool mist. And, around the clearing, in the trees, sat close to sixty different tree houses; all of them woven together by hundreds of different bridges.
Suddenly jumping down, Misaki landed beside Kasumi, holding up both their bags. Nodding a thank you, Kasumi took her bag and looked out at their home. "We'll be back soon enough." She said before both her and Misaki disappeared. A sullen wind blew after them, howling. They were gone.

"Do you remember?" The question still echoed and remained in the cold air of the clearing, the wind soon carrying it to the gate of Barton Town, "Do you remember Barton, who we are?"
