• A shower of rocks and dirt cascades into the hole I've dug, steadily burying the box I've placed so neatly inside it. It is quite deep, this hole of mine. It took me around forty minutes just to dig it, and now it's taking me about twenty minutes just to fill it up again. When all the dirt is packed firmly into the ground, I heave a sigh of relief. There. I'm done. Tossing the shovel aside, I wipe my brow, weary from the tiresome wor. I'm sore all over. My knees buckle and I kneel, my fingers plunging into the freshly churned earth. Breathing slowly and evenly, I close my eyes and bow my head. My fingers tingle as I picture beautiful golden-yellow sunflowers and snow white daisies. I feel the tendrils of these flowers push up the dirt and wrap themselves over my finges as they begin their upward climb toward the sky. When they reach satisfactory height, I open my eyes and pull my fingers out of the flowers' grip. The corners of my mouth tug into a small smile. Rolling onto my back, I gaze up at the sky, fingering my hair absentmindedly. The moon has swollen, finally reaching it's full size. Drake and the others left a few hours ago, leaving me alone with Eric and Armageaddon. Matt has gone, having decided to grace Bethany and Plum with his company. And Daniel? Well, he was never here to begin with. My eyes close as I picture his face. It is no different from my own, except for his onyx hair and silvery grey eyes, which differ from my dark brown hair and jade green eyes. Tears p***k the back of my eyelids and I give a wry smile. I try to lay still but can't as I start to shake uncontrollably, sobs wracking my body while tears start pouring freely down my face. Why?! Why did you leave me?! Danny!!... I curl up and try, unsuccessfully, to supress my cries. Eventually I feel the tears stop and I'm left feeling empty and cold. This is how I fall asleep, the moon's light drying my tears and the grass comforting me with it's sweet smell, Daniel's face burned into my mind's eye.
