• "You didn't tell me that you did that!" I screamed. "Ok, look. I just needed to talk to you. You're my girlfriend, and I want you to stop hanging out with Kazu." Jack frowned. "You know what? I'm not your girlfriend! And I could do WHAT I want WHEN I want!" I shouted at the top of my lungs. "Oh. Ok. I could live with that. I'll keep in touch with you then, since you don't wanna talk face-to-face. I'll write a letter tonight. Bye." And Jack cried and ran away.

That night a got a letter from Jack. It said:

    Dearest Umiyuki,

I love and miss you. At 3:00 A. M., please see me in Old Town. I have a surprise for you there. It's in Chicago, so you gotta drive kinda far. I don't really remember if you can drive by yourself. I'm looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

    Yours truley,
    Jack

P.S.- Go to the Gift Shop inside the Old Town mall. I bought you something and they're keeping it there until you pick it up.

3:00 A.M.? Too early. I wanted to throw the letter away, but I knew I should keep it. I mean, what if I forget Old Town and go to Fisher Brown's? That wouldn't be good. And Jack was wrong, I could drive by myself. I don't know what he ment by, "It's in Chicago, so you gotta drive kinda far." because I live near Chicago. It's him who's the one who has the long drive, because we live far apart.

"Oh, wow." I said, looking up. There was a picture of me engraved into a wall, with the words, "I love you".
