• I knew my eyes grew brighter as I saw Jazzy. I had heard about her from many of my clanmates in DiamondClan. I fiddled with my diamond necklace as I followed Scar into Claw's den with Jazzy.

I felt hurt when Jazzy slipped by me, and she made quite the effort to to let our shoulders brush, or or even her arm. I sat by Scar, who seemed to be steaming and embarrassed at the fact of even coming to MistClan in need of their aid.

I watched as Scar replied honestly to Claw's question.
"Well. We are in need your your aid," my leader explained as he gestured with his hand at my clanmates who were guarding the entrance to Claw's den.

"But that's against the Five Rules!" Jazzy had finally spoken up, and she had a horrified look on her face as she gasped.

"Yes, we know. But this is an important matter!" Scar snapped at the healer, but soon realized his mistake and dipped his head in apology. No one ever mocked a healer, even if you were a leader.

"What is the important matter, then?" Claw asked, seeming evenly bored already with the group of DiamondClan battlers sitting inside his den, pleaing for help.

"The pack of lions outside of our Clan. They keep on invading our camp to steal prey, and almost got away with with a newborn," the fear in Scar's eyes could never be ignored. He was even shaking!

"What would we get in return for disobeying our ancestors?" Claw sneered at them, rising to his feet. His usually sharp green eyes were now aggressive and angry.

"The diamonds, yes? Every Clan wants our supply of diamonds, and if you do so in our favor we shall send supplies of diamonds for a year," Scar held out his hand as he rose to his feet, waiting for MistClan's leader to agree.

"Alright, its a deal. And if you back out on us after we have done your favor we shall attack," Jazzy's leader warned, shaking Scar's hand in agreement.

"Of course," my leader replied, acting as if he had never even dreamed of it.

"I'll have some of our battlers escort your group out of our territory," Claw declared, walking past the group and out towards the Storage Room where battlers were waiting for their meals.

I watched as Jazzy slipped out after him, glancing back towards me only once before walking towards Eve.

Ice slipped towards me as we were escorted out of their territory. He whispered into my ear.
"We know how to walk ourselves back. We don't need to be carried like a newborn baby," he growled, glaring back at two battlers who were following them.

I nodded, showing Ice I agreed with him completely. Why would we turn on Claw's back when we had just begged for help and had just set up a deal.

Ice snorted, gazing happily at our border which we were coming closer to.
"Now we can finally get away from these stupid stalkers," Ice ran off towards our border, almost skipping.

I sighed, seeming disappointed in Ice. Couldn't the guy have a better attitude at the time? I started to pick up my pace, keeping close to Scar.

We entered our camp, which was buzzing from the excitement.

Scar went into the middle of camp and raised his arm up in the air.
"MistClan has agreed to help us!" He announced, scanned his Clan as his clanmates cheered loudly and clapped.

"Hi, Keith!" The familiar voice rang out among the loud talking around me. I turned and smiled at Lise, who was running towards me smiling.

"I would also like to perform a Partner Ceremony," the leader's booming voice made everyone's fall silent.

    "Lise, step forward."

I smiled at Lise, showing her complete support. I was happy for her that she was getting a partner, finally. She was the right age, though, she was younger then Keith, and Keith hadn't gotten one yet.

"Keith, step forward, also," I froze in terror. Had Lise liked me more than a friend? Had she asked Scar since she was Scar's daughter if he could be her partner?

I stepped forward also, gulping silently. If I became Lise's partner for life, I would have to hide my feelings for Jazzy, even though I already had to!

"Lise, do you promise to be loyal to Keith, if he may lie to you, if he may betray you, even if he would ever hurt you, do you promise?"

"Yes, I do," she replied, gazing happily up at her father.

"And, Keith. Do you promise to be loyal to Lise, if she may lie to you, if she may betray you, even if she would ever hurt you, do you promise?" I could feel Scar's fatherly protective gaze on me. He would beat me if he ever knew I did any of those things to Lise.

    "I do."

"Now, I pronounce you two partners. May you two live in harmony until either of you die," that was when usually the partner's held hands and hugged each other.

I took Lise's hand, hating it already as I hugged her. I could feel her trembling as she hugged me back. She must have asked Scar for this.
