First time using this damn text log but that’s one of the great benefits of this GPS system thing.

Right now I’m on board with Captain McLain, a new captain who’s very young and my wife, Beatrice. We’re flying towards a huge-a** mining ship called Omega-113. The ship’s practically Jesus compared to the tiny Venture ship we re using right now.

One thing getting me suspicious are the guards piloting us now. Why would we need guards? Omega-113 sent a distress call but that usually happens when an engine’s stopped working or life support is down; sometimes even when space pirates are attacking. Did something bad happen or am I just being stupid?

We crash landed; nobody opened the asteroid shield so we had to break our way through the defense. Beatrice and I changed into our AIR suits or else have our spines broken because of the heavy gravity in deep space.

As we entered the main lounge both guards had to use the restroom; I couldn’ t help the feeling of being watched.

Bea tried and tried to communicate with someone on the ship but no one would pick up their GPS. Actually one did, only I wouldn’ t call it picking up; you could hear scratching noises and then just a dead connection.

We waited for hours for the guards to come out; I basically memorized all of Omega’s map. Finally the Captain heads in only to come out holding a bloody, wounded guard. His face was scratched up and he had a bite mark on his leg; whatever bit him went very deep because you could see his bone through one of the puncture marks. The fact he could still walk was remarkable. After checking the marks on his body, which were critical but not life-threatening, he told us about how a creature ripped his comrade’s arms off and took him into one of the air vents. His associate’s bloody scream was the last thing he remembered before being attacked by another one of the beasts. Why didn’t they take him?

After waiting for hours Bea found a GPS system. This is what it said:

    I’m hiding...

They can come through anywhere. Though they’re not smart beings they can surely break through a door.

Marcus, my love, I’m sorry. I won’t be coming home. Either I’ll spend eternity on this blasted ship, hiding in this locker with those monsters or get killed trying to escape. My two choices being starvation or massacre.

    How did this happen?

One was just in here. Thank god it didn’t_

    What are these creatures?

McLain was cracking. He was on the ground, crying his eyes out. Bea and the guard who says his name is Bruce had to give him an encouraging talk. Finally he got his crap together and gave us our first mission to start tomorrow. Did they not notice that log was made TODAY?
