• I shivered as I gazed up at the moon. It was full, bright; perfect. It made me feel free. I looked down and surveyed the tall, short, glowing city. The people aimlessly walking the streets, not knowing of the danger. As I said. Perfect. Many of them were drunk, thair blood filled with unappetizing liqour, but somewere clean. I could hear their hearting beating in their chests, see their viens pusling under the thin layer of skin. My mouth watered. I couldn't wait any longer. The man the alley, taking a shortcut, was unaware of my presence. Yet. I silently dropped to the ground. My body arching smoothly as I flipped through the air, landing with an inaudible thump. I started at his back, just listening to his breathin. Slowly, steadily, softly, in and out. Prowling toward him, I longed for it, torturing myself. But it was not yet time. No, not yet. Wait...Wait...Now! I pounced, yanking him toward me, pulling his head up, exposing his neck. Swiftly, I brought my mouth to his neck, fangs sliding soundlessly out. I licked once, for effect, and then sunk my teeth in. all this in a few seconds. The man only had time to squeak before I was on him. The blood filled my mouth, sliding beautifully down my throat. I moaned, hearing the man moan as well, the pleasure affecting both of us. It was almost unbearable, the pleasure. This desire I was waiting so long for, was being satisfied. But too quickly, it seemed. It was unbearably hard, but I stopped, retracting my fangs, regretfully. But I made a vow to never kill my victims. I wasn't that cruel. Touching him lightly on the forehead, he was passed out, I easily erased his memory. Life was so simple sometimes, even if you had already lived for three centuries, with more too come.

As I wandered aimlessly, but yet it a certain direction, along the rooftops, I thought about Yumi. Maybe I should go and visit her, since I’m in the area. She should be waking up soon... Looking up at the moon, I estimated that it should be about 5:00AM, so that meant that the sun would be rising in about an hour or so. Well, I don’t really want to be out when the sun comes up, it gives me such a dreadful headache, but if I must I will. I decided to stay on the rooftops; they were faster and easier to get around on. But all that jumping is so bothersome. Oh well. I found the direction of her apartment, and started running. Coming to the edge of the first building at full speed, and not slowing down any, I jumped, exerting just enough force to propel my body across, but not far enough as to land and have to jump again right away. I had admit it, even though jumping was a bother, I loved the feeling of flying through the air. The force of my jump pushing me through the empty air, nothing under my feet, nothing to stop my fall but the ground 10 stories below my feet. The feeling of weightlessness. My shoulder length, straight, black hair streaming out behind me. I land running on the other building, streaking across, and then jumping again. As I ran and jumped, my thoughts, again, turned to my best friend, but this time, I was remembering how we first met...”Ugh! I’m so bored! And I hate snow!!” I stood on the sidewalk in between a road and a park, in my boots and parka, in a foot of snow, and fuming. I was 10 in vampire years, but much more mature than a ‘normal human 10 year old. So here I was, a mature 10 year old, and I was sent to the park to play, while the elders were in a meeting. A meeting that I was old enough to attend.....hey, who’s that? I was facing the park, so I could see that there was a little girl, around 10 or 11 years old, running around in circles, and laughing her head off. I, personally, could not see what was so funny, so I decided that I would go and ask the strange girl what exactly she was laughing about. I started to trudge my way through the snow toward her, looked down, and grimaced. “Great, the snow is even deeper over here.”
