I woke up and it seemed to be a normal Monday morning, and on normal Monday mornings, I overslept. I jumped out of bed, and made a break for my closet, which was Monday morning routine, as was throwing on the first things I touched(which often had disasterous consequences). Once downstairs, I made a beeline for the kitchen. Running pretty late, I grabbed a bannana. “Mom, I’m taking the car.” I yelled upstairs to my mom. Without waiting for a response, I took the keys and went outside. I walked around it, to the driver’s side of the rusted old Chevy, and was about to climb in when I noticed the flat tire. I dashed back inside, put the keys in their dish, and shouted once more. “Scratch that.” Now extremely tardy, I ran outside and hopped on to my bike. I had gone roughly a mile, when I remembered trhat I had no lunch, nor any money to buy some. I turned around and peddaled faster. Once home again, I scoured my bedroom for cash. When I found none, I raced to the kitchen and threw together a sandwhich. After putting it in my bag, I left the house again, subsequently finding ten dollars in my pocket. I let out a groan of magnamous proportions. I clambered back on to my bike. At this point I was thinking about skipping entirely, to avoid detention, or at least several demerits. Completely distracted, I rode my bike over a rock. The bike went flying and fell on my face. “That’s it!” I screamed to the sky, causing a few birds to scatter. I picked up my scratched bike, and got dejectedly back on. I started in the opposite direction of my school. Where could I go? Home was out of the question. The mall? Traunt officers looked there first. The movies? Nothing good was playing. I decided on a small café with a wireless internet connection. Once there, I ordered an iced – caramel – latte. When it was ready, I sat down and retrieved my laptop from my bag. I signed on to the virtual reality where my avatar was much more popular than I was in real life. With good reason. Her name was Gemini, and she had raven-black hair with peircing blue eyes. There was a surprising amount of people wre logged on. I did random odd jobs, earning coppers(the curency in the game). I hung out in various places, searching for people I knew. I entered my friend’s private chatroom with the password. I didn’t expect anyone to be there, I just wanted to leave her a message saying I wasn’t sick. For some reason, she and my other best friend were there. Whats up? I typed. Not much. Elle, the blonde and blue eyed avatar of Gabrielle said. Whatcha doing? I asked. Not much. Responded C-Shell, Shelley’s character, a dark skinned avatar with a black-brown pixie cut. A bit later, after tons of idle chatter, I logged off. I messed around on the internet a while longer, until it was late enough to go home. I put the computer in my bag, which I proceded to drop. I took it out, restarted it, saw that it was in perfect working conditon, and put it away. I went outside, and looked where I had left my bike. All that was there was my broken bike-chain, curled around the traffic sign. I then said something I wasn’t too proud of, which gained me a lot of unwanted attention. I disconsolately started to walk home. When I arrived, my mom was in the kitchen. “Hey, Hon.” She said cheerily. I grunted and dropped my school bag. She looked up at the noise. “So, Sweetheart, how was your first day of summer vacation?”
