• He sits, outside, cold and alone. But he is perfectly content. He even smiles once or twice. The atmosphere around him is blue, as the moonlight filters through on the treetops, revealing the true green color the leaves would show during the time the sun would be out. The dark blue sky covers anything beyond two feet, except the moon that shines brightly, turning the blue around it, lighter. The cold air bites him as if to give a sign that tells him to go home. A few large rocks are hidden within the darkness. Some smaller pebbles reflect the shine from the moon, causing the ground to light up around them like small mirrors to the moon. In the distance, there is a thin cloud of fog that stretches across the woods. Limbs on trees hang low, some touching the ground. They hover over the boy as he sits. A few puddles of mud are formed from the rain that occurred just hours earlier. The tints of green and blue don't even cross his mind. All he sees is what is in his hand. Colors don't matter anymore. Whether he is surrounded by a rainbow doesn't matter. Not to him. All that matters is for him to be alone in this place. A small, forest-like background with some streams of blue/white light. Beauty, in his mind, is not what he sees everyday; not in his neighborhood. That is why he is out here. There is silence. A calming silence. Except for the occasional howl of a wolf nearby, there is no sound under the moonlit sky. The clouds of his breath can barely be seen, through the forsaken darkness. Yet, there is a light that shines on the picture in his hand. It seems like the picture itself is being lit on fire, without burning to ashes and dust. he doesn't care about where the light is coming from. he is completely unaware of anything. his attention span, at the moment, is one of a dog when there is food in its bowl.--Unaware, and uncaring of anything else that goes on. He continues to stare, when he is eventually hypnotized. Until a sudden crash and an immediate scream is heard; the trance has been broken. He didn't think much of crashes and screams before it started to rain, but now he is compelled to rise his head to look up at the sky. As he does, a few cold tears flow down his cold face. Minutes pass, until he finally stops looking up. Instead, he looks around and sees just how alone he really is. Darkness starts to pierce his eyes, and the howls of the wolves get louder and closer. The boy finds himself staring straight at nothing but black. The moonlight is all gone. The picture itself lost color and the light from it disappeared like it was never there. Shaken, the boy clicks the button on his watch that turns a little green light on. His watch reads 1:23 a.m.
